Kylie Minogue has been praised for completing a 14-day hotel quarantine with no special treatment.
All passengers arriving in Australia from abroad are required to quarantine for 14 days.
Kylie’s long term promoter Michael Gudinski praised the ‘Spinning Around’ singer received no special treatment while undergoing quarantine.
“She’s been here a few weeks, she’s ecstatic to be home with her family,” Gudinski said.
“She’s vibing to be home, she’s going to stay in Australia for a while.
“There’s no talk of her doing any live shows, but she’s really impressed with the way we’ve been getting live music back in Victoria.
“She wanted to come up here especially and say a few words to encourage Mallacoota and the Australian music industry and obviously she’s very close to James.”
Her praise comes after a number of high profile celebrities have also been allowed to skip quarantining in a hotel under the provision they do it at home, which upset many of those who have had to put up with the inconvenience of putting up with a small room.
Her sister, Dannii Minogue, is known to have Permitted To Skip Hotel Quarantine After Arriving In Queensland, adding to the list of privileged celebrities who have escaped the usual inconvenience of quarantine rules.
“I’ve been watching from overseas, I’ve just arrived back home in Australia, I’m so so happy and grateful to be here in Mallacoota,” Minogue said. “You can feel the love.”
Athletes competing in the Australian Open have been particularly critical of their hotel quarantine in Melbourne.
Novak Djokovic, Roberto Bautista Agut and Yulia Putintseva were among those to have vented their frustrations with the living standards and food options in their Melbourne-based hotels, which has since drawn criticism from around the world.
Minogue, a global star of multiple Grammy Awards, made a shock appearance at a concert in regional Victoria where she surprised fans in the crowd at the final ‘Sounds Better Together’ series in Mallacoota.
She joined James Reyne on stage, Ms Minogue danced to Australian Crawl hit ‘The Boys Light Up’.
