The public has been warned to be vigilant this weekend as one of the worst storms in recent years hits the Uk.
Very strong winds are expected to cause travel disruption to parts of the country as Storm Ciara hits most parts of the Uk. Weather warnings have been issued for this weekend include 80mph winds and heavy rain . The storm is set to be the most intense in Britain since 2013 with impacts felt “across the whole of the UK” on Sunday.”
Sky news have reported that hundreds of flights in and out of Europe, as well as dozens to and from UK airports are either cancelled or delayed. There are over 80 flights delayed between Heathrow and Gatwick. Public transport is also expected to heavily affected. Virgin Atlantic are said to have axed a number of flights, while British Airways is offering customers flexible
Gusts of up to 50-60mph are expected this weekend ,rising to 80mph along coastal areas.The Met Office issued a series of severe weather alerts, including an amber warning for strong winds for much of England and Wales on Sunday.
