A number of the Queens horses were chased out of their field by three random bikers, leaving drivers fearing for their lives when the animals charged onto the roads.
Some of Her Majesty’s horses were hit by vehicles as they travelled up to six miles away from the fields where they are based.
The horses from The Household Cavalry, were chased out of their field in Melton Mowbray, causing “absolute carnage” according to those at the scene. Several of the Queens life guard horses were hit by vehicles as they bolted up to six miles away from their base in Mowbray, Leicestershire where they had bene taking a break from their duties of guarding the Queen at Buckingham Palace. The frightened horses were about to head for the dual carriage way when they were stopped just before they made a turn that could have been absolutely disastrous.
The Daily Telegraph reported that the horses were seen being chased out of their field by three people on motorbikes who were beeping their horns and revving their engines. The reason for the chase by the men is unknown, but is generally believed to be nothing more than truancy. One local journalist from the area told the eye of media.com that he had been told by a few locals that the chase was a vengeful act of intimidation by some angry about the Royal family after watching the Diana documentary. The documentary aired last Sunday took the Uk back over two decades, showing the personal struggles Diana went through in her personal life journey, leaving her feeling isolated as she came to terms with a doomed marriage to Prince Charles and no forthcoming assistance from any of the Royals. However, her Majesty cannot be blamed for the inevitable breakdown of Prince Charles marriage to Diana.
LUCKY
Leicester police are investigating the incident which lasted over three hours and terrified drivers. One woman wrote on facebook, “Very lucky to be here to tell the tale as I honestly thought me and my mum would be killed”.
“After avoiding a head on with another vehicle to emergency stopping on the verge to then have 21 horses charging at you smashing the car as it passed with glass landing all over me while screaming at my mum to stay down trying to cover her while whipping her seat back.
“Such a horrific incident. I hope when the mindless people are caught they get the book thrown at them as this could have resulted in numerous fatalities.
“Luckily for us were just shook up and aching from the collision although I have to add this has really upset my mum who is a very strong woman.”
All the horses were all eventually returned safely to their base, after the long scare. The news would have got back to her majesty the Queen, who certainly would not have been amused.
