Police drug seizures lead to murders a lot, an insider to drug circles has told the eye of media.com.
Many times police seize a huge amount of drugs, it can eventually lead to a murder. Our source from Newcastle told the eye of media.com ” In many cases dealers obtain drugs on what is called ”consignment” ,meaning on tick(credit). The supplier will deliver the drugs on ‘trust’, expecting money back after the sales of the drugs.
The dealer will be given a good share of the sales for selling the drugs, but if the drugs get robbed or seized by police, he will be indebted to the supplier of the full expected returns of the drugs”, he said.He will have to first provide evidence that the drugs were in fact seized from police. Once this evidence has been received, he will be allowed some time to try and get the money whatever we he can. It is his headache how he gets the money, but he must get it.
DARK
It is a dark world out here, the drugs business is not for the faint hearted. The duty is on every dealer to operate as smartly and discretely as possible to avoid being caught, especially when a huge amount of money is involved. Some dealers are more unlucky than others and get caught immediately they arrive home with a potentially money spinning amount of drugs”.
”They now have the headache of finding the money. Some will lose their cool and go after any suspected snitch they find, if they have enough reason to believe they informed police. People immediately become paranoid once they have been caught, especially when they know their supplier is expecting their money back and will act lethally if the money does not turn up.
JEALOUS
It is even worse when people get robbed by jealous and rival dealers because it becomes their duty to compensate their boss for the loss of the drugs. People are hungry mate, no time for excuses! Once their food is gone, and you were in charge, then God help you! The safest way is to buy the drugs with your own money so you only have yourself to blame if you loose the drugs to police or other dealers” .
Why can’t drug dealers avoid robbing each other, considering they have a common enemy in the police, we ask? ”Greed and jealousy, came the answer. People see it as a faster way of reaching their goal of making money, especially where they think their victim is acting flash or dealing on their patch. Even when this is not the case, it is just the opportunity of making quick money”.
With this comes a big problem that leads to continued rivalry and many times murders. Robbing from someone who also may feel desperate to play the same game, leads to inevitable confrontations that cause deaths. It sounds like a vicious cycle that cannot be eradicated. The police will always go for dealers if they have enough information to direct them to places where dealings are taking place or about to take place. Police don’t take into account the potential consequences of murders resulting from drug seizures.
LEGAL
Their legal position is rightly that drug dealings should not be occurring anyway. They will investigate any murders that result from huge drug seizures, but many times police will never know the cause of the murder. The eye of media.com has not been given any specific cases of murders that have occurred due to police drug seizures or rival robberies. We have not sought this information, and frankly don’t want to know. That is the job of the police, ours is to report.
Our source was not paid for this interview, although we bought him two pints of beer and some food totaling just under 15 pounds.
