Nottingham Man Get 5 Years After Police Dogs Sniff Out £4,000 Cocaine

A  man has been jailed for 5 years after a police dog sniffed out more than £4,000 worth of cocaine which was hidden under floorboards in a house.

The discovery was made by police officers along with a drugs dog and handler during the execution of a drug warrant  in East Manton Workshop on January 4, 2017.

Andrew Ian White was arrested and charged with possession with intent to supply after a blade, cutting mat and scales were also seized. White initially denied the offence but later pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs at  Nottingham Crown Court on October 26. The 31 year old later changed his plea after being advised that the evidence against him was overwhelming and the possibility of him serving a longer sentence if he denied the offence.

Sergeant Jon Hewitt said: “This was a long and tedious case with White initially pleading not guilty at his first hearing, but hard work paid off after we were able to offer an overwhelming amount of evidence, leading to an eventual guilty plea.

Drugs can devastate lives and we will not tolerate them poisoning our county. This was a great result and I’d urge you to contact us if you suspect people to be dealing in your communities. You could be the key to helping us rid more drug dealers from our streets.”
