Yorkshire Mp To self Isolate After Recent Meeting With Health Minister

A Yorkshire MP to self-isolate after meeting with Nadine Dorries who tested positive for Coronavirus.

York Central MP Rachael Maskell(pictured) announced that she will be self-isolating after attending a meeting with Ms Dorries last week, who was last night confirmed to be the first British politician to test positive for Coronavirus.

Ms Maskell confirmed she  met with the Health Minister on Thursday, March 5 to discuss mental health services in York.She will not be holding meetings in her constituency over this period.The York Central MP has no symptoms and will be working from home and available for meetings on the phone.Ms Maskell said: “It is essential that we all follow the public health advice provided, even if we are feeling well.

“We must do all we can to contain and delay the onset of Coronavirus.

“The public health advice to everyone is to wash your hands, catch your coughs and sneezes and then bin it, and to miniise contact, including touching your face. “If everyone follows this hygiene and isolation advice then we may be able to delay the spread of the virus. If anyone shows symptoms, they must follow the Public Health England advice and ring NHS on 111
