A 41-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the tragic stabbing death of a four-year-old boy in Hackney, east London.
The Metropolitan Police have initiated a murder investigation into the heartbreaking incident that unfolded late Wednesday night.
Police and the London Ambulance Service responded to a distressing call around 10.50 pm, discovering the young boy with knife injuries. Despite immediate efforts to provide medical assistance, he succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to the hospital.
The woman , who is yet to be named was apprehended at the scene and is currently in custody. Authorities have confirmed that she was known to the child, and they are not seeking additional suspects in connection with the tragic death.

Detective Chief Superintendent James Conway expressed the profound distress caused by the incident, acknowledging the shock and disbelief it has generated within the local community.
He assured that the Metropolitan Police are collaborating with partners, including Hackney Council and the school community, to provide support for those affected.
Specialist officers from the homicide team are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the young child’s death and the events leading up to the tragic incident. While the incident occurred within the home, authorities have emphasized that there is no wider public safety risk.
