Why Prince Harry’s Words About Chelsea Davy Revealed Strong Feelings Prince Has For Ex Girlfriend

By Lucy Caulkett-

Prince Harry had very strong feeling for Chelsea Davy, and may have got married  to her had opposing forces not been so strong.

Researchers feel he may still secretly have feelings or her, judging from his words of admiration for Davy in his book ‘SPARE’.

The prince has expressed during court hearings,  the extent to which his relationship with Chesea Davy was affected by an overly enthusiastic press. He believes press intrusion damaged their relationship, and has recently engaged several sections of the media in a fierce legal battle about alleged phone hacking.

He has had partial success in some of these cases, but not all have gone his way.

But a new case against Associated Press will soon continue following a court ruling.

On Friday Mr Justice Nicklin ruled that the case brought against their publisher Associated Newspapers by Prince Harry, Elton John, Doreen Lawrence and others can continue.

Prince Harry had claimed in previous cases he brought relating to allegations of phone hacking that his privacy was infringed by the British press over many years, affecting his trust levels for his circle of friends which became smaller as a result.

His war with the British press has not won him many friends, but the duke of sussex believes he deserves justice in relation to the allegations.

Prince Harry is married to former U.S actress Meghan Markle, after meeting the actress at a party. She wooed him into her romantic nest, and many of her critics have accused her of using the prince for social climbing.

With Harry’s emotions high in the past few years, following his controversial Oprah Winfrey interview, the Netflix docuseries, and his book Spare, some researchers believe Harry is privately still angry that his relationship with Chelsea Davy was aborted due to press pressure.

Observers who believe the prince may still nurse strong feelings for his former lover, Chelsea Davy, believe part of that anger may be influencing his push for accountability with the British press whom he accuses of using unlawful means to obtain stories about his private life.

The  duke of sussex really liked Chelsea Davy because of her immunity to being star struck, after concluding that she took him for who the person she got to know, not the big name attached to his royalty.

Harry eventually married Meghan Markle, after meeting the actress at a party. She wooed him into her romantic nest, and many of her critics have accused her of using the price for social climbing.

Former City lawyer Chelsy, 37, who is married to successful hotelier Sam Cutmore-Scott, dated Harry on-and-off for six years from 2004.

Harry’s words about Chelsea   is  seen as an expression of Harry’s deep feelings towards Chelsea, as he warmly expressed  why he really liked her.

Many believe Harry would have married Chelsea had it not been for the many press intrusions she could not handle.

Several analysts have suggested that Prince Harry would have  been better suited to Chelsy Davy than Meghan Markle. Press interest and coverage did not suit Davy, who preferred to be out of the limelight.

Harry has never made any claims to have wished he married Chelsea Davy rather Meghan Markle.

Speaking about Chelsea Davy, Harry said in his writing: ”Unlike so many people I knew, she seemed wholly unconcerned with appearances, with propriety, with royalty. Unlike so many girls I met, she wasn’t visibly fitting herself for a crown the moment she shook my hand.

She seemed immune to that common affliction sometimes called throne syndrome,” Harry wrote. “I’d always wanted to know what it might be like to meet a woman and not have her eyes widen at the mention of my title but instead to widen them myself, using my mind, my heart.

‘With Chelsy, that seemed a real possibility. Not only was she uninterested in my title, she seemed bored by it. ‘Oh, you’re a prince? Yawn.’

Harry and Chelsea at the time  spent three days together, having  their first kiss under the stars.

He also  commented on the very different paths between himself and Davy at the time he was going to war for Britain.

“I recall one difficult chat, he says. What were we doing? Where were we heading?” he writes. “She knew I cared about her. But she felt unseen. I am not visual.

‘She knew how desperate I was to go to war. How could she not forgive my being a bit detached? I was taken aback.”

They ended up parting ways due to Chelsy not wanting a life in the public but ran into each other at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding in 2011.

“She and  I weren’t in regular touch, which was why Willy checked with me before inviting her to the wedding. He didn’t want either of us to feel uncomfortable,” Harry wrote, saying that seeing her was “hard.” He explained, “There were loads of feelings still there, feelings I’d suppressed, feelings I hadn’t suspected.

‘I also felt a certain way about the hungry-looking men trailing after her, circling her, nagging her to dance. Jealousy got the better of me that night, and I told her so, which made me feel worse. And a bit pathetic.”

Speaking about his relationship with Ms Davy he said: ee met in about early 2004 and were in a relationship which continued, on and off, until around mid-2010,” Prince Harry revealed.

“Our relationship was long distance for the majority of the time we were together, with Chelsy and often living in different countries, so we relied on communicating by phone a lot.

“We, naturally, spoke about all types of personal matters, including all aspects of our relationship and this was often through voicemail.

“As my girlfriend, I trusted Chelsy with the most private of information and visa versa.

“We were never on our own and able to enjoy each other’s company away from the prying eyes of the tabloids.

“This put a huge amount of unnecessary stress and strain on our relationship.

“We could also never understand how private elements of our life together were finding their way into the tabloids, and so our circle of friends became smaller and smaller.

“I remember finding it very hard to trust anyone, which led to bouts of depression and paranoia.

“Of course, now that we know that this information was invariably obtained by unlawful means, these friendships were lost entirely unnecessarily, which is a matter of huge regret for me.

“Ultimately, these factors led her to make the decision that a royal life was not for her, which was incredibly upsetting for me at the time.”

Later during his testimony, Prince Harry discussed a 2005 article that was titled “Harry’s girl to dump him”.

“By this stage, Chelsy was already extremely guarded about our relationship and our circle of friends who we trusted with information about us had shrank considerably,” he revealed.

“Every time these kinds of stories were published, there was a strain put on our relationship.

“We started to distrust everyone around us”

Many of Meghan Markle’s critics believe she was drawn towards Prince Harry because of his royal status, despite her claims not to have read up about the royal family or Prince Harry.

Markle’s past relationships has led many critics to  to question her motives for marrying Prince Harry, with a few people predicting an eventual doom for the relationship.

Advocates of the duke and duchess of sussex say the couple are happy together and were united by a mutual love they share.

They insist Meghan Markle liked Harry as an individual, not his royal status. Meghan’s critics strongly dispute this stance and consider it a mere defense by those unable to see through her. They insist the duchess went for Harry’s title and position.

Critics have cited rumours that the way  Meghan Markle dumped her ex boyfriend Trevor Engelson.

However, research shows a growing number of people in some circles believe Prince Harry may have done better with Chelsy Davy, the well to do South African businesswoman and law graduate, with whom the Prince is still close friends.
