What Meghan Meant By Empowering Pupils To Fight For Their Beliefs

By Lucy Caulkett

Speculation  attended Meghan Markle’s speech to pupils at Robert Clack Upper school in Dagenham as she told children to “fight for what they believe in”.

In her last speech under the official banner of the royal family, Ms Markle told the comprehensive school  that they have a right to speak up for what is right and to have a voice.  appeared to be referring to her fight with the royal family. The decision for the Dutchess Of Sussex and her husband, Prince Harry to leave the Royal family is the most major decision the couple have made.

She could also well have been referring to her fight with the press, considering the fact Prince Harry announced a legal suit against the media for invasion of privacy.

She continued: “No matter how small you might feel, no matter what colour you are, no matter what gender you are, you have a voice and you certainly have the right to speak up for what is right. She was given a standing ovation for her talk, which marked International Women’s Day.

Meghan told them during a visit to their school on Friday: “No matter how small you might feel, no matter what colour you are, no matter what gender you are, you have a voice and you certainly have the right to speak up for what is right.”She added: “I encourage and empower each of you to really stand in your truth, to stand for what is right.”

Meghan also urged the boys at Robert Clack School in Dagenham, East London, to “value, appreciate and protect” the women in their lives.

Meghan Markle’s empowering comments to the pupils to fight for their right appeared to be referring to major decision she and her husband made to depart from royal duties- a decision that led to the Queen insisting that the couple no longer use the royal titles they had once enjoyed.

In the context of past rumours of a rift between Prince Harry and Meghan and Prince William and Kate Middleton that became unbearable after a point, other disputes that have taken place in the palace which have been relayed to sections of the press by reliable sources reveal at least occasional tension between members of the royal family and Meghan, sometimes involving maids in the palace. Not all the reports have been accurately told, but deep inquiries behind the scenes suggest that at least some have been true.

Fighting for what Meghan perceives to be her right was also expressed when she announced the decision to sue the publisher of the Mail on Sunday after the newspaper published a handwritten letter she had sent to her estranged father.

PRESS ATTACK

Her husband Prince Harry launched an extraordinary highly personal attack on the British tabloid press and its treatment of his wife, saying he could no longer be a “silent witness to her private suffering”. Acknowledging the importance of “objective, truthful reporting”, Prince Harry accused parts of the media of “waging campaigns against individuals with no thought to the consequences” and compared the treatment of Meghan to coverage of his mother, Princess Diana.

The Mail Online has since fought back by publishing their defence to the attack. Emphasising his respect for the importance of “objective, truthful reporting”, Prince Harry accused parts of the media of “waging campaigns against individuals with no thought to the consequences” and compared the treatment of Meghan to coverage of his mother, Princess Diana.

Meghan may have been sending a message to the Royal Family as she stood up on a stage and urged schoolchildren in Dagenham to ‘stand up for your rights’
Meghan also had a message for the young boys at Robert Clack School in Dagenham, East London.

She told them to “value, appreciate and protect” the women in their lives. They were also asked to set a good example for “some men who are not seeing it the same way”. Those words were powerful and well said and is a perfect reflection of what Prince Harry has done by protecting Meghan from what he sees as unjustified attack against her.
