The tragic crash, which claimed the lives of 10 individuals on Wednesday, has sparked widespread speculation of a vengeful plot orchestrated to avenge Prigozhin’s audacious mutiny in June—a daring challenge to Russia’s military hierarchy.
On the global stage, US President Joe Biden nonchalantly remarked on Wednesday that reports of Prigozhin’s demise hardly surprised him, suggesting that in Russia, few events occur without the omnipresent shadow of Vladimir Putin.
Russia’s track record for silencing dissenting voices or those who dare challenge the political establishment’s authority looms large. Critics have long accused the nation of employing lethal methods to muzzle opposition and maintain control.

Prigozhin’s untimely demise is poised to bolster Putin’s supremacy in the immediate term, a consequence of removing a formidable figure who had played an instrumental role in orchestrating the incursion into Ukraine while openly criticizing Russia’s top military brass.
