Tyson Fury’s Bold Declaration To Be The Strongest And Fittest Heavyweight In The World

By Tim Parsons-

Tyson Fury today declared himself the strongest in the heavyweight division who ”hits as hard as any other heavyweight, if not the hardest”.

The confident and unbeaten heavyweight champion was speaking to  IFL tv during an interview in Southend On Sea, where The Eye Of Media.Com  hears some of the extended family members of the former heavyweight world champion resides.  He criticised  the commonly held view that he can’t punch ”is a joke”. He said knocking people out is not his style because he style is to punch. Tyson Fury said:

”I am the master of boxing. I hit as hard as any heavyweight in the world if not harder“In order to throw heavy bombers, you need to plant your feet, bend your knees, and I let them rip,” said Fury. “But when you do that, you get them back like we saw with Joshua last week.

”He who tries to land bombers usually gets stopped. Look at [Wladimir Klitschko]. When he tried to get stoppages earlier in his career, he would get chinned.  But when he started  getting behim his jab, he started winning, and was unbeaten for 11 years until he met me. I’m the master of the style of moving and not getting hit. Why do I want to put myself at their level to get hit?

Why do I need to put myself in their level like a brawler ?Ask any one in the division, I am the strongest man in the division. I have sparred them all. You try pulling me out 19stonnes, you will get gassed. When I fought Deontey Wilder, I didn’t use all my advantages. If I had grabbed him, his little legs would have went( ungrammatical, he meant gone).

”When I boxed Tom Schwatz, I wanted to get a knock out. I had to be aggressive in America. I wanted to get him out, but it wasn’t my style”. Asked about Eddie Hearn’s comments about the quality of Schwatz, Fury said: ”I have no interest in anything Eddie Hearns says. He’s got to try and discredit me. His golden goose has just got flattened by a fat man.  Everybody he has is great, but everybody he doesn’t have is sxxx. He got got Joshua beaten by Ruiz, because he looked at the man’s body but didn’t study boxing, and that’s the truth of the matter”.

FAT PIG

On Joshua’s criticism of the quality of Schwatz, Fury said: ”He couldn’t get an easier opponent than a fat pig”.Fury expressed interest in fighting American unbeaten Jarrell Miller, whom he said is ”popular” and ”highly ranked”.

Fury defended the decision to fight Schwatz, saying he is ranked no.2 by the World Boxing Organisation(WBO). Fury’s fitness cannot be questioned after he survived two knockdowns from WBC champion Deontey Wilder, and lasted the full 12 rounds, and has been the distance 9 times without gassing out. However his claim to be the strongest heavyweight in the world is disputable because many boxing fans will argue that both Anthony Joshua and Deontey Wilder are stronger than him.

One of our contributors to boxing, Paul Murphy, said: ” there is a difference between power and strength. If you have power, you have strength. But you may have strength and not much power. A person may be stronger than someone who has more power than them”.
