Tyson Comes In 3 Stonne Heavier Than trim American Wilder

By Gabriel Princewill

Tyson Fury came in three stone heavier than Deontay Wilder on the final night ahead of their WBC heavyweight title fight this weekend.

Security was ultra high as both men remain composed before the fight. Tyson Fury tipped the scales at 18st 4lbs, a massive weight adavantage over Wilder’s 15 st 2 Ibs. WBC champ Wilder wore a mask, as he came in destructive mode. This looks like Wilder’s lightest ever, some 2 Ibs lighter than his usual weight. The American will be very light and explosive, but Fury will be feeling very confident with his three stones advantage over Wilder.

The gypsy fighter is mobile for his size with a decent level of variety when at his best, but Wilder is a bit of a tiger when he unleashes punishment against his opponents. He is a known knockout specialist, but will be given away a lot of weight when the pair meet for the world championship belt on Saturday. Three stonnes is by no means an insurmountable task, in fact, this might may well be Wilder’s opportunity to look like a young Mike Tyson if he demolishes Fury in style like he will be expected to do. As favourite to win, Wilder will look supreme  if he shuts Fury up once and for all. Fury whose signature win was his toppling of Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 will claim legendary status if he beats Wilderon the American’s home soil, and you can be sure he will try. The thought that the 6ft 9 inch confident gypsy could somehow pull this off will introduce a new era with his charming noise and grandiose claims. Wilder , on form and record, is the likely victor in the first half of the fight, but Fury’s size adavantages allied to a spirit of resilience and determination, makes for an entertaining fight.

Both men will have self belief, but it willl be interesting to see how the exhibit it and whose confidence prevails. It would be preferable for Wilder to come in at a fit and strong 15st.7 inces at least, but perharps he believes differently. Fury may have saved the best show of his career for this day, but Wilder is a tiger on the loose.
