Trump Wins First Presidential Debate In Bullish Style

By Aaron Miller-

President Trump won the first presidential debate against Joe Biden in bullish style, interrupting him and the moderator, Chris Wallace, in a manner not so attractive to witness.

The debate in Clevelland was one of the ugliest debates in the history of American presidential debate, but Trump was the more bullish and confident, attacking Biden from all angles, going below the belt in an attempt to crush his political rival.

The American president attacked Biden’s smartness immediately after the Democratic candidate suggested Trump needed to at smarter. ” Don’t you talk to me about smartness. You went Belaware college and you didn’t even know the name of your college, and you graduated the lowest in your grade, or almost the lowest, Trump said.

Bidden, who tried to be composed, but was dragged into a bit of a brawl with the president, had no response to the scathing attack which delved deep into his academic past decades ago. Biden attacked Trump. saying he was not up for health care. He pointed out that the president was going to remove the assistance many of America’s impoverished residents rely on for aid. Trump wants to take Obama Care away, he doesn’t have a plan, and doesn’t know what he is talking about”.

Trump, known for attacking former president Barack Obama, said ”no matter how well Obama Care is run, it is a disaster”.

Trump turned up the heat after targeting Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, saying he had a cocaine addiction and repeating allegations he received $3.5 million from a Russian oligarch while his father was still vice president in 2014.

Covid-19

On the topic of Covid-19, Biden attacked Trump, saying that he knew the seriousness of the virus back in February but withheld it from the American public because ”he panicked”. He also ridiculed the president for suggesting that bleach could cure the virus, prompting an interrupted from the president that the comment was made in sarcasm.

Trump moved fast to attack Biden in relation to the idea of lockdowns. ‘Biden will shut down the economy and destroy it. In reference to American cities that have been shut down, Trump argued that governors of state on lockdown are ”under siege”. He highlighted the downsides of the lockdown which has led to high rates of divorce, alcohol and suicide levels.

”Newyork is like a ghost town, people want their schools open, they want their restaurants open, ”The states are not doing well that are shut down, before telling Bidden ”let me shut you down for a minute, as the Democratic nominee tried to intervene.

The debate descended into ugly scenes of insult throwing as Biden called the president ”a liar”, saying ”everybody knows he is a liar”, before asking him to shut up before the end of the first segment. A notable point in the debate was when Bidden said ”it is hard to get a word in with this clown”.

”He[Trump] uses everything as a dog whistle to cause division. It says a lot about what he has done. He has done nothing for African Americans”, Biden said, after directly calling the president a racist. Trump fought back, highlighting a past comment in which Bidden had referred to African Americans as ‘super predators’. They haven’t forgotten that, he said.

After attacking Bidden by saying people do not turn up to his rallies, the president accused Bidden of having no law enforcement supporters. The people of this country demand law and order and you are afraid to say the word”, Trump alleged.

The conversation became heated  particularly heated when Trump targeted his opponent’s son, Hunter Biden, saying he had a cocaine addiction and repeating allegations he received $3.5 million from a Russian oligarch while his father was still vice president in 2014.

White Supremacists

Trump revealed a troublesome side, when he practically refused to point blank condemn White Supremacists at the request of the moderator. Instead, he called on such groups to “stand by” .

Democratic senator for Massachusetts, Ed Markey, argued that the president could not deny far-right extremists because “he is one”. Members of the Proud Boys movement, who president Trump told to “stand by” during Tuesday’s debate, later celebrated the president’s words on social media, with more than 5,000 of the group’s members taking to Telegram to post “Stand Back” and “Stand By” above and below the group’s logo.

Bidden used the debate to say he decided to run for president after Mr Trump said there were “very fine people” on both sides of a 2017 protest led by white supremacists in Charlottesville, Virginia, where a counter-protester was killed.

The pair became particularly heated when Trump targeted his opponent’s son, Hunter Biden, saying he had a cocaine addiction and repeating allegations he received $3.5 million from a Russian oligarch while his father was still vice president in 2014.
