Sky Sports Select Questionable Haye And Bellew As Pundits

By Gavin Mackintosh-

Sky sports have invited David Haye And Tony Bellew as Pundits for the Anthony Joshua fight against Wladimir Klitschko his Saturday.

The former feuding pair will be joined by Deontey Wilder and Carl Froch. It appears strange that Sky sports would invite David Haye and Tony Bellew to comment on the big heavyweight showdown.

Haye, who just embarrassed himself by losing to Bellew should not really be commenting about Joshua’s fight with Klitschko. Certainly not after his deplorable behavior in the build up to his fight against Bellew .

Sky sports needs to rethink its choice and quality of guests for high profile fights. Wilder and Froch should have been an adequate choice if two accomplished heavyweights in their era. Lennox Lewis or Nigel Benn would have been much better alternatives to invite for such a big showdown.

Bellew’ s single campaign at heavyweight does not earn him the accolades to feed the British public with his views.

ENDORSEMENT

The invite appears to an endorsement of his popularity. Bellew’ s victory against Haye was commendable, but not commendable enough to serve the British public with his views on Joshua and Wilder.

ADMISSION

An admission of fault by Haye for his disappointing behavior has never given, but he gets rewarded with the continued role of commentary expertise. Neither Haye nor Bellew has a chance in hell of beating Joshua, even in the event of a defeat by Klitschko this weekend.

Johnny Nelson, Deontey Wilder, and Carl Froch are more than enough commentary. Sky sports have been the most loyal exhibition of boxing for many years; their professional experience should serve viewers well with the highest and most credible level of commentary possible.
