Russia Faces Full Ban from Olympics

By Tim Parsons

Russia is facing a full.ban from the Olympic games in Rio Brazil this year.

The ban results from the findings of a two months investigation commissioned by the World Anti Doping Agency which has uncovered evidence of state directed, fail safe doping throughout Russian Olympic sport.

The findings were both damning and highly incriminating, as stated at a press conference in Toronto on Monday morning. Three main findings were delivered at the press conference :

Dope samples were reported to have disappeared from the anti doping laboratory in Moscow, and them swapped with clean samples another laboratory for the Social Winter Olympics in 2014, under the direction of the Russian  sports ministry.

Headed by Chairman, Richard Mclaren, over 300 results were said to have been falsified.  Mclaren’s team used forensic analysis, seized computers, studied data, alongside the performance of tests on stored samples russiafrom the Stichill games.and other major events.

The investigation was sparked when Russia’s former director of anti doping laboratory,  Grigory Rodchenkov, highlighted that the Russian secret service had the expertise to open bottles sealed with urine samples, and replace them with clean samples.

Mclaren sent a  random sample to London to see whether the bottles had  scratch marks around the neck of the bottles to show they had been.manipulated.

The manipulation theory proved correct, with every bottle showing evidence of scratches. Undercover footage of alleged doping confession, also formed a part of the evidence used by Russian athlete and doping whistle.blower, Yulia Stepaside.

only a small number of Russians will be allowed to compete at the Rio Olympics if they can show they have been based outside the country and subject to testing from a respected nine Russian anti doping agency.
