A journalist has discredited claims in a book aimed at achieving revenge against Meghan Markle , after the book’s authour misrepresented his perception of the Duchess Of Sussex.
Sam Kashner, a contributing editor at Vanity Fair, has criticised the new book by royal expert Tom Bower after the erroneous claims about his cover story interview with the Duchess of Sussex back in 2017. Kasher’s attack on royal biographer Tom Bower(pictured) already creates a suspicion of bias in the book which both the Duke and Duchess Of Sussex were said to be dreading, but it won’t stop his wide audience of readers from drawing their conclusions on other reported details in his book to hit the shelves this week.
Bower’s book is expected to reveal inside secrets and revelations about the war between the Sussexes and the Windsors, presenting Meghan Markle more as the intrusive outsider whose addition to the royal family was more a liability than an asset.
His denial of the book’s claims in relation to Meghan Markle’s treatment of him is not good publicity for a book which will both be a good read and bring its own set of drama and further acrimony between the Sussexes, members of the royal family, and the press. Its wide coverage will not delight Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, but the couple’s lawyers will definitely be paying close attention.
The book alleges that at the interview, which took place at her Toronto flat around a year before her royal wedding Meghan is alleged to have made insulting comments about Mr Kashner’s way of speaking.
The attack is a bad start to a book which is meant to be factual, and already being serialised in many Uk publications. It was thought that Bower had conducted through research and verified the claims he put in the book, but on the week of its publication , the authour is already being accused of publishing lies or untruths.
Bower is said to have spoken to both Meghan Markle’s friends and enemies, but the credibility of some the book’s contents is already in doubt. The book is expected to reveal several insights into Meghan Markle and her feud with the Windsors, but readers will now have to make up their minds about many of the other details. The book may contain truths, lies, inaccuracies, or a mixture of these.
Bower will now be under pressure to justify his claims, but may well be able to point to people who gave him that information. Presenting facts are an important aspect of published work, and the Sussexes will be feeling ahead on this first trip up.
According to excerpts from ‘Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors’ published in The Times at the weekend, she told him that she liked him because of his stutter and felt he was “not like a typical journalist”.
Mr Bower writes that this left the Vanity Fair editor wondering if he “was being played”, adding: “It was a cat-and-mouse game, he reasoned, and she was calculating how to take advantage of the cards played.”
Mr Kashner responded via a letter to the newspaper this weekend to rubbish the claims, writing “Sir, I’m afraid Tom Bower didn’t convey my admiration and respect for Meghan Markle in the excerpt of his new book in The Times on Saturday (“Writer ‘felt manipulated’ by Meghan”).”I found Ms Markle to be exceptionally warm and gracious and admired her intelligence and remarkable courage, as I still do.”
The revenge book which is either directed at exposing unknown facts about Meghan Markle which could further damage her reputation and compensate the many people offended by her words.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are despised by many royalists and media commentators for their decision to leave the royal family, and on top of that, launch a series of scathing attacks on its workings, including making a damaging claim that an unnamed senior member of the royal family was racist by asking how dark the colour of her unborn child would be. She also claimed that her feelings of suicide were dismissed when she complained to the royal family.
The claim sent shock waves across the world, with television presenter Piers Morgan leading the angry brigade of royalists and critics against what was viewed as a destructive and disrespectful attack against the royal family. He said he did not believe a word that comes out of Meghan Markle’s mouth, leading to him losing a job which had increased his fame in Britain.
Piers Morgan insisted his right to freedom of expression was being infringed. Multiple complaints against him eventually led to an Ofcom report which was widely reported to have cleared him, but actually did not. The report cleared Itv of not breaching its code because it rigorously challenged aspects of Piers Morgan claims, but said it would have been a chilling restriction to prevent him from expressing his views.
The television presenter unashamedly refused to accept his misjudgement in dismissing Meghan Markle’s claim to feeling suicidal, unreasonably asking for evidence to support the claims. he repeatedly dismissed her claims in the tabloids after losing his job, but had a large fan base in the media that supported him for challenging what was widely seen as an offensive stance by the Duchess Of Sussex, whose critics accused her of bringing her disintegrated family background to the royal family.
Piers Morgan has described Meghan Markle as a manipulative, controlling social climber.
The former straight talking Good Morning Britain host wrote, “His (Harry’s) whole life since meeting the equally disingenuous and virtue-signalling Meghan Markle, whose manipulative, controlling and cynically social-climbing streak is so comprehensively exposed in Tom Bower’s new book ‘Revenge’, has become a ridiculously two-faced sham.”

In an attack on Prince Harry, Morgan said: “There’s nothing he loves more, in his new capacity as renegade duty-devoid runaway royal, than getting up on his public preaching pulpit in front of the media he despises, but uses for constant self-promotion, to tell us how we should do the complete opposite to what he does,” Morgan added.
Meghan Markle’s sister Samantha Mark has filed a lawsuit against her sister for defamation of character during the globally publicised Oprah Winfrey interview, and Meghan’s half brother, Thomas Markle Jnr has been very critical of her. Her father, Thomas Markle, has also repeatedly appeared in the media to discredit his daughter and her husband, prince Harry.
Allegations
Meghan Markle accused the the royal family of subjecting her to a life of torment, seizing her car keys, and her passport so she could not travel without permission. She accused them of hosting get togethers for the press and encouraging false stories to be written about her.
Her husband Prince Harry said on several occasions he had to comfort his crying wife and was let down that senior members of the royal family would not confront the media’s attack against his wife even though a group of Mps had taken an open stance against it.
The accuracies of her claims was subsequently questioned and attacked , leaving many angry with the couple’s decision to go public.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been widely criticised for what has been seen to be hypocritical positions on climate change, keeping their royal titles whilst benefiting from it, and getting involved in politics, which has traditionally been against royal protocol.
Bullying claims have also been made against Meghan Markle, allegations she has always denied. A report in relation to those claims was eventually shelved by the royal family for the sake of peace.
Meghan Markle also won a major law suit against the Daily Mail On Sunday.
In November 2021, the duchess won her dispute with the Mail on Sunday, which in 2019 published parts of a “personal and private” handwritten letter she penned to her dad after her wedding to Prince Harry. That letter pleaded with her estranged father to stop talking to the tabloids, saying “you have broken my heart into a million pieces”.

The duchess also received “£1 by way of nominal damages for misuse of private information.”
The Mail also paid Meghan’s legal fees, which exceed £1 million. has followed in his wife Meghan Markle’s footsteps by winning the first stage of his legal claim against British tabloid the Mail on Sunday.
It is quite likely many members of the press club are still angry with Meghan Markle over her legal victory, especially as she is still strongly believed to have been the poison to the royal family.
The book, which is out this Thursday, seeks to inform the world of Meghan Markle’s alleged negative side, which its authour Tom Bower, has taking his time to expose. It seeks to appease all those offended by Meghan Markle, including her chief critic, Piers Morgan, who is likely be licking his lips at the prospect of the book heaping embarrassment against the Sussexes and upsetting them.
His readers and critics will decide.
