Prince Harry knew Markle was the one the very first time he met her, he has told a reporter.
Harry announced that he is “thrilled” after announcing his marriage to U.S actress girlfriend Meghan Markle. The pair are scheduled to marry next April, after what will be two years of dating.
Ms Markle, wearing a white belted coat, held Harry’s hand as they appeared briefly for the press at the palace’s Sunken Garden, the American princess to be, showing off her diamond engagement ring to the world. Her joy was obvious to see, the pair must have waited for this moment for a while, although they have a bigger day to look forward to Wearing an engagement ring designed by Harry, Ms Markle’s ring features two diamonds which belong to his late mother,
Diana, the former Princess of Wales.At the centre of the ring is a diamond from Botswana, a country the couple has spent time together over the last year and a half. Prince Harry , like his brother, will be expected to set good standards by ensuring the marriage works. Judging by his confident and self assured tone, marked with the soft loving nature his mother possessed, Harry will be one of the coolest husbands in the country. The announcement of their engagement has been welcomed by Buckingham Palace and prime minister, Theresa May, who offered her very warmest congratulations and wished them every happiness in the future.

Harry’s brother, Prince William, and his wife Catherine, said they were ”very excited for Harry and Meghan” and that it had been ”wonderful getting to know Meghan and seeing how happy she and Harry are together”. Harry’s claim to have know Markle was the one the very first time they met hints at love at first sight, but the world will want to hear a bit more about that. Exactly how he knew is a bit of a mystery, but there are many who believe that love at first sight truly takes place. The country has five months to prepare and look forward to their marriage, and we will all want to hear the details of how they met and how their romance was sparked.Two years is a fairly short time to decide that a person is the right person to walk down the aisle, but people do sometimes click instantly. There is no prescribed length of time required for a couple to know each other before the man pops the question, and a wedding date is ultimately set. History is littered with examples of people who knew each other for up to 10 years, only to realize they did not actually know everything about each other.
A BBC interview scheduled for this evening will be watched by millions, we can only hope it gives enough information about this couple to send tongues wagging. How former girlfriend, Chelsea Davy will handle the news is anyone’s guess. She had a back and forth relationship with the Prince, who was highly on demand at the time and appeared to be indecisive about their relationship. Davy- a law graduate from Leeds University, eventually became a successful businesswoman in South Africa and maintained a friendship with Harry after their break up, but how far or deep that friendship was is not known. The announcement of Harry’s engagement will likely be met with mixed feelings by Davy, who was on track to be the princess to be Harry’s wife, but it wasn’t meant to be. She has carved out a future for herself without the Prince, but will definitely have some deeper thoughts about this announcement.
Prince Harry and his brother William, have been positive ambassadors for the Royal family ever since entering adult hood, and bets must be high that they will make fantastic husbands for their wives too.
