The U.S president, Donald Trump, has fired his Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson .
After months of speculation of the pair’s falling out, Trump announced the news on twitter, as he revealed the head of CIA, mr.Pompeo, as his replacement for the U.S Secretary.
Former oil executive, Mr.Tellison had just returned from a diplomatic trip to Africa when he heard the bombshell news of his dismissal. The dismissal triggered a war of words within the U.S government as the State Department accused the president of not talking to Mr Tillerson before the sacking.

The resignation is the biggest shakeup of the Trump Cabinet so far, but will further claims that the Trump administration is divided, and it is just a matter of time before it crumbles. 65 year old Tillerson left his position as chief executive of Exxon Mobil to join the U.S administration, his early exit comes as an embarrassment, but may also provide him with ammunition to voice out any concerns he has about the direction of an administration that has long been under the microscope.
When questioned about the decision to drop Tellison ,Mr Trump cited the pair’s differences on the Iran nuclear deal, which the president wants to scrap, when asked about the reason for the Tensions between Mr Trump and Mr Tillerson came to a head when the latter refused to deny reports he called the president a “moron” last year.
The pair have also publicly disagreed over the U.S Government’s stance to North Korea, with Mr Trump reprimanding Mr Tillerson in tweets for believing talks with the regime could end their nuclear programme. Tillerson is gone now, and the impact of his resignation might take a while to surface, if at all there is any.
