Piers Morgan Successfully Fought Media’s Corner On Meghan Racism debate

By Eric King-

Piers Morgan  thoroughly held the media’s corner on the Meghan racism debate  on his British morning television programme as he  exposed the weak arguments of Afua Hirsh.

Morgan grilled Hirsch, 38,  who is an experienced broadcaster, after she  alleged that racism in the media is the reason  the British people are upset with Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.

The televised debate was further analysed and debated by a a thinktank today in West London and some members of this organisation, as part of a long term evaluation of the Sussexes and the decisions they have made, amongst other topics.

Without determining whether the media had ever  treated Meghan in a racist way (which would involve value judgements on countless articles), it was easily determinable that Afua Hirsh did not logically  defend her argument. Psychologist, Dr Chris Williamson, told The Eye Of Media.Com:

”Afua Hirsch made a poor case of defending her position that Meghan had been subjected to racism by the media. Everybody is entitled to a view, but when that view involves an allegation, it needs to be proven. It is not out of the ordinary to believe that Meghan has suffered racism in the media, but without evidence, it is pointless.

Meghan has suffered some racism by internet trolls, but that is not the same as the media”

Instead Morgan shut her down on all fronts, leaving her no leg to stand on.

After  Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced last week that they were leaving their official capacities within the royal family to spend time in North America, opinion was immediately divided as to who was to blame. The  sudden decision  was  reported to have offender the Queen.

With a majority of people blaming the Dutchess Of York for the crises, others have blamed the entire saga on racism coming from the media. However, when Piers Morgan pressed Afua Hirsch to explain how the media had been racist, she was unable to defend her position.

Ms Hirch said there have been allegations that she has been associated with very racialised forms of crime, there have been discussions about her “exotic” DNA, her newborn baby was compared to a baby chimp,’ Afua began.

But Piers legitimately asked: ‘Is her DNA not exotic by royal standards? She’s the first mixed-race person to enter the royal family. Why do you take exception to the word exotic?’ ‘Because it others her and associates her with a history that has posited people of African heritage as other,’ Afua responded

Morgan, then engaged the founder of Women In Leadership, Shola Mos-Shogbamimu to point out areas where the press had mistreated Meghan because of her race.

“Where is this racism that you keep talking about? Where are the ghastly tabloids that you say have been driving this racist agenda? I guess the woman, who as far as I was aware because I read all the papers, lauded and welcomed her for the first 18 months as a breath of fresh air, bringing a multiracial aspect, finally, to an all-white royal family,” Morgan explained. “Where is this racism?”

OBTUSE

Mos-Shogbamimu also failed to defend her position .  She simply called his question “obtuse.” “When you ask me where is racism, as I said before, if you were paying attention, it is not my job to teach you about racism.”

ACCUSATIONS

The television presenter said it was her job to defend her accusations of racism and maintained that his question was important. He added, “You’re getting a lot of traction online, and everyone is cheering you on because you like to say it’s all driven by racism, but when you’re actually pinned down and asked to cite the racism, where is it?”

Mos-Shogbamimu demanded that Morgan stop asking her to highlight examples of racism and said it’s not her fault that he “can’t see” racism because of his privilege. Morgan responded, “You can’t tell me I can’t see it when it doesn’t exist.”

Morgan justifiably accused her  of race baiting.  “You are race-baiting. You are trying to turn the Meghan debate into a racial divide in this country, and you’re accusing the majority of being racist, and it is wrong.

Morgan said: “Listen to you, I’ll tell you what your job is, everyone is cheering you on on Twitter and you like to say it’s driven by racism but where is it?”

Dr Shola said: “If you were paying attention, of course it does exist, her son was compared to a chimpanzee.”
