One Of Channel 4 Satirical Biopic About Prince Andrew To Air Today

By Samantha Jones-

A one-off Channel 4 satirical biopic  about Prince Andrew starring Kieran Hodgson, Harry Enfield and Munya Chawawa among others will be featured today.

The disgraced Prince is set to have his own satirical musical biopic in Channel 4’s Prince Andrew: The Musical.

The hour-long special is part of Channel 4’s Truth and Dare: 40 Years of Pushing Boundaries season and will depict Andrew’s marriage troubles as well as the allegations of sexual assault and subsequent lawsuit

It is written by Kieran Hodgson, who also stars as Andrew, and also features roles for comedians like Harry Enfield and Munya Chawawa.

The synopsis on the Radio Times reads: “With seven hilarious original musical numbers and revealing archive footage, the Duke of York’s downfall gets a West End-style treatment, as Andrew goes from ’80s war hero to present-day royal outcast amid damaging allegations and an ill-advised Newsnight interview.”

Andrew’s turbulent marriage, allegations and subsequent lawsuit are all featured and sung about, in what will make mockery of the fallen prince.

Hodgson takes on the titular role of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s “favourite son,” which he plays here with an almost pantomime flair as unashamedly arrogant, re-creating the famous picture of the prince with a rose between his teeth after he was hailed a hero for his role in the Falklands War in the 1980s.

He is joined by a brilliant cast including Munya Chawawa as Prince Charles, Jenny Bede as Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah ‘Fergie’ Ferguson, Emma Sidi as journalist Emily Maitlis, and Harry Enfield and drag queen Baga Chipz as Prime Ministers Tony Blair and Maggie Thatcher respectively.

The Prince’s  infamous 2019 car crash Newsnight interview with Maitlis wil also be ridiculed for an audience to enjoy.

Prince Andrew’s ties to the late paedophile Jeffrey Epstein tarnished his name irreversibly.

He is reportedly planning  to escape to Bahrain, according to RadarOnline.com, and is planning a luxury exile in the Middle East as a result.

“Andrew believes he will be treated like a king there,” allegedly said one of their sources. “He’s close friends with the Arab state’s royals – and they have deep pockets that can help him finance a whole new lavish lifestyle. But more important, he will be safe there since Bahrain has no extradition treaty with either the United States or the U.K.”

King Charles is said to have put his family above his duty as the monarch after his disgraced brother Prince Andrew was a part of the Royal Family’s Christmas festivities at Sandringham.

Royal commentator Clemmie Moodie said the Duke of York seemed amongst other senior royal. Andrew has been forced to retire from royal duties after a sex abuse scandal.

“Christmas is a time for peace and goodwill. Which is the only possible, rational, explanation for Prince Andrew’s return to the royal fold on Christmas Day.”

“As Andrew, cheeks puffed out and head down, shuffled around the grounds of the Sandringham estate… this was clearly a case of his older brother, King Charles, putting family before duty,” Moodie said.

She continued: “Andrew’s presence was the only duff note in the new King’s first Christmas Day at the helm. Last week, though, he (Charles) showed he isn’t afraid to get tough — barring his sibling from using Buckingham Palace as an office space.”

“To have kicked Andrew when he was down though, and banned him from the royal procession on December 25, isn’t Charles’s style. In short, he put ¬ancestry before optics. Many a family can relate. There’s always a black sheep somewhere down the genetic line,” Moodie concluded.

The Duke of York, who has been stripped of his royal titles and patronages over his embarrassing scandal, was seen mingling with some royal fans at Sandringham. Some images and clips from the gathering went viral on social media, showing Andrew getting mixing with the crowd.

Prince Andrew has also lost his taxpayer-funded arm guards, which cost the country a whopping $3.6 million-a-year. Instead, the Prince will be offered protection from taser-Equipped private security, paid for by the King.

As a prince, he went from hero to zero in a flash, following the allegations of assault by Ms Guiffre.
