Olivier Giroud’s Last Minute Goal Keeps Struggling Arsenal On Track

Olivier Giroud’s last minute goal kept Arsenal on track to maintain their unbeaten run in competitions since their first defeat by Liverpool in their opening match.

Olivier Giroud’s header in the 89th-minute achieved an equaliser earned Arsenal a point in a game Manchester looked like they would win.

Arsenal had been trailing Manchester United up until the decisive goal that put them six points ahead of United. Wenger’s team lacked the level of imagination needed to convincingly outplay a team like Manchester United.
Theo Walcott produced little in the way of substance, and nothing special came from other Arsenal players despite them lagging behind with a goal deficit to Manchester United. Ironically, Arsenal supporters chanted ”you a’int special no more” in an attempt to berate United players and their fans.
They were heading for a defeat but showed remarkable durability to hang on till the end when Oliver Giroud’s intervention squared things up and ruined the mood of Jose Mourinho- United’s manager.
United was the stronger side, but unspectacularly so for much of the game. Arsenal keeper Petr Cech making important interventions and Mourinho left furious that they were denied a first-half penalty by referee Andre Marriner when
After Juan Mata gave Arsenal a strong lead in the 68th minute of the first half, Arsenal struggled to make any meaningful statement, allowing Manchester United dictate a largely uneventful game. Jose Mourinho’s side let their dominance slip away when they allowed Oliver Giroud to crash their party with his late header. Before then, Manchester United had outthought Arsenal at every stage of the game.
However, Arsen Wenger will be pleased with the result despite a disappointing game from his boys who must show greater strengths and team- work if they are to survive with the elite teams at the higher echelons of the premiere league division.

Philosophy

It highlights the useful philosophy of world’s most celebrated sport that it’s not over till it’s over. It’s a philosophy that cuts through every sphere of life, that any race must be fought to the end and can be compromised at the last minute.
United goalkeeper David de Gea had been having an easy day’s work until he was flatly beaten by Oliver Giroud’s header Arsenal’s goalkeeper, Cech,on the other hand, had been fairly busy throughout a lot of the first half and the second half.
This was the first time Manchester United has drawn in three consecutive home league games since 1992.
