Murder Case Of Convict Kicks Off At Basildon Crown Court

The murder of a Londoner killed a few weeks after his release from jails begins tomorrow.Courtney Valentine Brown was murdered  at Roots Hall  in Southend On Sea in Essex, where he was residing at the time of his death. 

Five people are on trial for his murder.They are Ian Slater, 49, of Wayletts, Leigh-on-Sea, Stuart Pearson, 43, of Satanita Road, Westcliff, and Alex Stephens, 36, of Hamlet Court Road, Westcliff, and 30 year old Kelly King from Westcliff  Mr. Brown had just been released from Chelmsford Prison three weeks before his murder, after serving a five year jail sentence for possession of drugs.

Ms King was originally released without charge, pending further investigations, but was later released and charged with murder after new evidence came on stream. Police raided several properties and seized all the mobiles phones there as they went through multiple messages in search of clues.  The jury was sworn in at Basildon Crown Court on Monday,  with important and highly important discussions taking place at the Judge’s chamber today, Tuesday.

The case, which promises to be explosive and very revealing is expected to last up to 6 weeks and should begin  around 2 pm tomorrow. All the five accused deny murder.
