Mr. AMIN’S ENGLISH DEFENCE LEAGUE

Mr. AMIN’S ENGLISH DEFENCE LEAGUE

BY BRAD JAMES

They often say that power corrupts. It is a heady elixir that can even pervert the most honest of individuals to commit morally questionable acts, all for the sheer reason of clinging on to the scrap of authority that the immutably monstrous construct of capitalism chucks a person’s way, like the swiftly decomposing scraps of a carcass. The carcass is often democracy, devoured by the fervent rot of lies and subterfuge. A can of worms the size of the beast slumbering in the asteroid in The Empire Strikes Back have been torn asunder in the face of ostensibly endless malpractice carried out by politicians and high-ranking officials spanning all areas of the country and many decades and the phenomenon seems unlikely to abate any time soon. Such as the case of Tory Party candidate for Dudley, Afzal Amin.

The hopeful for the Midlands seat has currently been suspended, pending further investigations. After recent allegations have emerged regarding the prospective MP’s plans involving the far-right fringe group, the English Defence League (EDL). Rumours emerged that Mr. Amin planned to utilise the EDL to march in protest against plans for a fake “mega-mosque” in Dudley. Further additions to the plan included the candidate’s idea to wade in and diffuse tensions, thereby painting the wannabe MP as a hero.

A Tory Party spokesman has said that Mr. Amin has been suspended with ‘immediate effect.” Defence Minister, Anna Soubry has said that he must ‘go now,’ if the allegations were true. Allegations which Mr. Amin hotly denies.

Speaking in Dubai, Afzal Amin said:

“The point was to announce a march that would bring people together to discuss, and through discussions, tensions would be resolved.”

Therefore he is claiming to be a champion for multicultural cohesion. That his aim was to allow for debate to flourish and for greater understanding to be attained, instead of deepening division and resentment. Yet this is contrary to what has apparently been filmed by EDL founder, Tommy Robinson, who left the group recently, citing difficulties in eradicating extremism. Robinson filmed Mr. Amin, who said he planned to “use” the EDL. He assured Tommy Robinson that he would be an “unshakeable ally” and help bring the EDL into the mainstream.

The EDL will enter the media mainstream in announcing a march and will have an opportunity to proselytise disenfranchised youth, which is the MO of any group: “get them whilst they’re young and brainwash them.” Here Afzal Amin comes to the rescue. He diffuses the situation, he turns down the heat on Dudley’s racial pressure cooker and brings many warring factions together under the auspices of fraternity of understanding. A noble cause, seemingly, yet it is being driven at the behest of ambition and glory, which spells it’s reasoning and intentions as false. It is this very falsehood that festers and destroys any efficacy of our political establishment. An element we are growing increasingly wise to and tired of.
