MP David Lammy Calls For Urgent Police Action On Constructors

By Ashley Young-

Tottenham MP, David Lammy, has called for urgent action following fears of a Grenfell Tower cover-up.

Lammy, who was close friends with one of the victims, Khadije Saye, says contractors are already expunging the details of their work from their websites.

Meanwhile, Mr Lammy warned that ‘everyone culpable’ for the disaster would avoid justice should they be given the opportunity to ‘quietly destroy’ document.

Lammy said: ‘Within the community, trust in the authorities is falling through the floor and a suspicion of a cover-up is rising.
‘The Prime Minister needs to act immediately to ensure that all evidence is protected so that everyone culpable for what happened at Grenfell Tower is held to account and feels the full force of the law.

‘We need urgent action now to make sure that all records and documents relating to the refurbishment and management of Grenfell Tower are protected.’

24 year old Khadija Saye was named as one of the victims of the deadly inferno that ripped through the Greenfell tower building, and the hearts of Londoners altogether. She was on the cusp of recognition after overcoming much adversity.

Saye died on the 22nd floor with her mother, communicating only through facebook because the police had seized her mobile phone over a suspected offense for which she had been cleared. Given the heights of success at her doorstep, the news of her death is very painful to all who knew her. News of all the victims who lost their lives in the fire is painful, but the pain will be intensified for different reasons to different people.

ACTION

Prime Minister, Theresa May and the Metropolitan Police are now expected to take urgent action in ensuring that all incriminating evidence before they are destroyed by those hoping to evade prosecution.

The director of prosecutions has warned that Council bosses and building firms top the list of potential manslaughter charges over the disaster which has so far claimed 79 lives. Rightfully so, but the urgent action needs to start now.

The warning from David Lammy that the obvious suspects are already covering their tracks should be taken seriously.

The eye of media.com has made reference in previous articles to the likelihood that the negligent perpetrators of this act would naturally try to cover their tracks, so they need to be raided now, and relevant documents seized.
