Mother Accused Of Perpetual Lies To Social Services Against Daughter Over Grandchild

By Gavin Mackintosh-

A mother has been accused of lying to social services and family members about her daughter, over matters relating to her grandaughter.

Francess Koi, (pictured)who works with vulnerable children, has been accused of contacting social services and misrepresenting the parenting of her own daughter, Tyra Pritchard, after having the young child under her charge for eight months before handing her back to her mother.

Ms Pritchard blew her top after her mother told family members that her daughter was crying when she returned her home, indicating that she wanted to stay with her grandmother.

A friend known to the family, who was present when the young girl was handed over to her mother rubbished the claim, stating that ”Ava was in good spirits and at no time cried when she was returned to her family home. The claim is untrue and unsubstantiated”.

Tyra Pritchard- a 26 year old social media influencer with a large following on snap chat- put her daughter in her mother’s care in Nottingham for eight months at the end of last year, following intervention from this publication. She says her mother has been fabricating stories to both social services and her daughter’s family in an attempt to deny her custodianship of her daughter.

Ms Pritchard’s two and a half year old  daughter, Ava Pritchard, was returned to her mother after having her for eight months amid a personal feud with her mother, Francess.

Tyra and her mother have suffered a strained relationship since last year, after a tumultuous new year ended in a row between the pair  which saw her mother take her young daughter to Nottingham without her permission.

However, they have managed to maintain civil communication from time to time for the sake of the young two year old.

The pair’s history of tension predates the birth of her first child, after her mother apparently expressed concerns about how dark the colour of her child would be, reminiscent of the allegation from the Sussexes against a senior royal.

The difference in this situation is that the concern about skin colour was coming from a black mother, an example referenced by critics who  say it invalidates claims that the mere question allegedly made by a senior member of the royal family amounts to racism.

Since the controversial interview Prince Harry and his wife gave Oprah Winfrey in March 2021, the Duke of Sussex has denied claims the royal family is racist, describing the question as unconscious bias. This case questions whether the bounds of bias is broader that that ordinarily understood or whether such questions are just curiosity.

Francess Koi  has from the outset distanced her situation with her daughter from that of the royal family. She says she asked the question because the father of her daughter’s child is Ghanaian, and Ghanaians are usually very dark.

Ms Koi also criticised her daughter for not formally introducing her to the father of her child.

She said as her mother she is entitled to meet the father of her grandchild, but her daughter felt this was unnecessary because of her mother’s conduct and the fact she is no longer with him.

However, aggrieved Tyra claims to have been on the receiving end of her mother’s ill treatment ever since she was young, revealing that her mother had initially wanted to abort her, but changed her mind at the last moment after her name had been called. She also claims her mother has never been willing to pay for things for her without being paid back.

”I feel jealous when I hear about other people getting on with their mothers and speaking glowingly about their mum. Sometimes I feel unlucky”, she said.

Tyra’s  father was out of her life for most of her growing years, returning in adulthood, and being very supportive, according to her.

Frances Koi, 48, had initially threatened the bustly social media influencer  with legal action over her grand-daughter, after she was told by the mother of the child that she would not be allowed to see her again after the very young child was driven miles away from her home to Northamptonshire, without consultation with her mother.

Following persuasion from The Eye Of Media, she gave her mother access to her daughter, but  agreed the period for which her mother would have her child, while she pursued career interests.

According to Tyra, when she was reunited with her daughter last month, she told close relatives that the young child had been crying and did not want to leave- a claim the young girl claims to be totally untrue and spiteful.

Among other complaints from the 26 year old social media influencer, who also designs Ms Pritchard, said social services informed  her that her  mother had  reported her to social services, alleging her daughter to be an irresponsible mother.

She feels her mother is trying to set her up.

Koi told The Eye Of Media last year that her daughter had ill treated her all year, stopped talking to her, blocked her on  whassap and on social media, and prevented her from seeing her grandchild most of the year.  She said she had done her best for her daughter who she accused of lacking appreciation and had been a nuisance since her teenage years.

On this occasion, a friend present when the young girl was handed over to her mother rubbished the claim, stating that ”Ava was in good spirits and at no time cried when she was returned to her family home. The claim is untrue and unsubstantiated”.

Social Services have been keeping an eye on the situation, but there is nothing to suggest the child is in any danger , or in unsafe hands.

Relationship Strain

Pritchard’s relationship strain with her mother has lasted many years which has been seasonal, improving during some periods, and returning to its usual state during other periods.

The attractive young girl claims her mother didn’t show her a lot of love in her teenage years and was too strict with her growing up.

But her mother described Ms Pritchard as a difficult child who wanted to have her own way, but whom she had to keep well trained and disciplined for her own good. She said she was challenging and there had often been drama with boys.

Francess said she hired tuition for her daughter for her G,C.S.E”s and took her on trips abroad as a child, a loving act she says her child fails to appreciate.

The dispute between the pair has got so deep that family members have got involved in an attempt to resolve the tension, including her cousin.

Francess Koi was contacted for comment, but declined.

Family members told The Eye Of Media.Com that Tyra is loved by the family, and mother and daughter are managing their relationship well”.
