More Women Who Make False Rape Or Sexual Assault Claims Should Be Jailed

More women who make false rape or sexual assault claims should be jailed, according to a friend of a victim of false allegation.

Matthew Phillipson, 36, a relative 0f the falsely accused soldier, whose identity has been withheld, told The Eye Of Media.Com that there are more innocent victims of false allegation who suffer the injustice of malicious complainants.  He said:

”My cousin suffered severe stress and humiliation as a result of the allegation. I hear many people talk about the fact that rape victims are not believed enough and that more attention and sensitivity should e given to them, but you also need more police who are aware of the numerous ulterior motives women can have for faking an allegation.

”Some girls or women are simply ashamed and embarrassed that they have acted loosely like a slag, especially if a man treats them horribly after and calls them names. I have even heard of women who will allege rape just because their boyfriend found out they cheated on him. Instead of admitting they are a cheat, they will be prepared to wreck somebody’s life. Rape or sexual assault is a serious offence, but girls or women who falsely accuse an innocent man of this offence deserve the full force of the law. The decision to jail Palmer serves her right, I hope she rots in jail”.

The man’s complain comes after Rebecca Palmer, 26, from Royal Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire, made a series of false allegations after the male soldier rejected her. Rebecca Palmer, 26, from Royal Wootton Bassett, made the allegations against a soldier based in Tidworth. However, the Crown Prosecution Service(CPS) concluded Palmer had “indulged in consensual sexual activity” with the victim, 22, and launched a “malicious campaign” after he rejected her.

She was jailed last October after being found guilty of four counts of perverting the course of justice at a trial at Winchester Crown Court.
The Court of Appeal heard Palmer made the soldier’s life a “living hell” and continued to lie to police even after her lies were uncovered.

EXCESSIVE

Her lawyers argued her five-year jail term was “excessive” and did not take enough account of her “significant mental health difficulties”. He cited  a brain injury at the age of 10 when she was kicked in the head by a horse, and also had personality disorders.

That excuse did not wash with judges. Three senior judges rejected her appeal. Mrs Justice Andrews told the court the soldier’s rejection of Palmer in 2015 “unleashed a storm” of false accusations – including of rape, fraud, blackmail and violence.
The soldier, who serves with the King’s Royal Hussars and was 20 at the time, was arrested, questioned and detained for more than 19 hours.

LIE
After he was released on bail, Palmer continued to lie to police by claiming he was contacting her in breach of his bail conditions and was stalking and harassing her. She went further in sending abusive messages to his mother and her friends.”There was a degree of pre-planning in her offending and that she knew that she was lying,” added Mrs Justice Andrews.Mr. Justice said she continued to fabricate allegations, which Mrs Justice Andrews said wasted “vital” police resources.

Mr.Phillipson added: ”It is important for police to always be open minded when they receive an allegation of sexual assault or rape. They should give the complainant the benefit of the doubt to start with, but always make sure they properly examine her potential motives and listen carefully to the accused to see if he may give them a reason to probe the accuser more to make sure they get the truth.
