Met Commander Stuart Cundy Will Charge Greenfell Offenders After Inquiry

By James Simons--

Met Commissioner, Stuart Cundy, has promised to look into criminal charges against any person or organizations responsible for the fire that slaughtered at least 79 people.

After a depressing week that has since the death toll rise from 12 to 58, then now 79, Cundy spoke of a wide ranging investigation that would look into many areas including the construction, refurbishment, and maintenance of the building.

”This is an incredibly distressing time for families, Cundy said. It is very hard to describe the devastation the fire caused. What is important is to find answers for those directly affected by the fire.” Confirming the scale of the investigation to be taken, Cundy said ” the police investigation will be wide ranging, looking at the construction of the building, the recent refurbishment, how it was managed and maintained , and fire safety measures. I will like to assure everybody that we will be looking at all criminal offences that may have been committed by anybody or organisation.

”where offences have been committed, I will do everything in my gift to bring them to justice”, Stuart Cundy said. Cundy’s words will provide some comfort to the public, although we must be reminded that actions speak louder than words. Guilty parties will already be in the race against time to cover their dirty tracks, but there can’t be much hiding place for the wicked in this disaster. A careful and thorough investigation will find them out, every single one of them. Ministers who were assigned the duty of addressing or implementing key measures to safeguard the residents must also be closely examined by the investigation. Cundy Police today revealed pictures of the hellish remains that scar what was supposed to be a beautifully renovated tower block. The UK Government has sent civil servants to the area as the distress and sorrow continues, almost fresh in the minds of Londoners from that area.

Prime minister , Theresa May, has promised £500 cash to each family affected by the fire, as well as £5,500 to all their bank accounts. The money is intended to help each person into temporary accommodation, meet funeral costs, and help with legal representation. An extra £1.5m will go to aid mental support for the emergency services. Witnessing such a terrible fire and seeing the desperation and screams of doomed residents trapped in a fire that was no fault of theirs can be a harrowing experience in itself. The scale of the traumatic effects of a fire like this on people cannot be stressed enough.

INEVITABLE

The apparent inevitability of manslaughter convictions for a number of individuals and organizations should have those culpable individuals quaking in their boots. Stuart Cundy’s words should have a strong impact on their irresponsible brains. They must not sleep well, not after depriving several mourning families of sleep. The many dead from this disgraceful tragedy will never sleep again all because of a level of negligence so high that it led to a graveyard of innocent people in an affluent area like Kensington.

Again, it was the less well off from Kensington whose lives were reduced to nothing. Stuart Cundy can be trusted to appreciate the strong feeling of anger and disbelief , ensuring that the investigation is thorough with no stones left unturned.
The public will be waiting desperately for that inquiry, so that justice can be done quickly. Those guilty parties should start by dipping their hands in their pockets to assist the survivors of this tragedy. The £5,500 given to the surviving victims to help rebuild their lives , but will not necessarily fully compensate the loss of amenities they had , or the comfort they once had of interacting with particular people in the tower block. The money is also to cover any funeral costs of loved ones, so the guilty parties, or suspected guilty parties should cough up meaningful money now to contribute to the recovery stages of a problem they created.
