Thomas Markle’s daughter Samantha Markle has taken to X, formerly known as twitter, to criticise the Duchess of Sussex, accusing her of lying about reaching out to her ill father.
Samantha expressed her feelings whilst featuring the statement of other people who were claiming Meghan lied about reaching out to Thomas.

“Houston, there’s been no contact,” she clarified. “Time to stop the PR bulls**t Medusa.”
Samantha has been a vocal critic of Meghan Markle, right from the outset. The bad blood between her and her half sister, would appear totally irreconcilable, with the half sister frequently in the past going public to criticise Meghan over the rift with her family and the royal family. Some critics have deemed Samantha’s open spat with Meghan Markle to be a signal of jealousy due to her sister hitting the limelight, whilst others see it as evidence of an underpinning notoriety of Meghan Markle.

What matters most at this point is whether the relationship with her father is none-existent and distant. The Duchess of Sussex had said via her representative that she had tried to contact her estranged father, who reportedly had his leg amputated this week.
A spokesperson for the Duchess said in a statement on Saturday: “I can confirm she has reached out to her father.”
Yet, contradictory claims from Thomas that he had not heard from Meghan nor her representatives following his surgery questions the credibility of the claim from the duchess of sussex’s representative in the absence of contrary evidence. How else can the duchess of sussex actually demonstrate that she is actually telling the truth?
Meanwhile, the Duchess of Sussex has insisted she attempted to contact her estranged father, Thomas Markle, amid reports he recently underwent a leg amputation in the Philippines.
Mr Markle told the Mail on Sunday he hopes to reconcile with his daughter and meet her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as well as the Duke of Sussex. The pair have been estranged since 2018, after Mr Markle admitted staging paparazzi photographs in the lead-up to Harry and Meghan’s wedding.
The public contradiction of Meghan by her sister does not reflect well on the duchess of sussex, who has insisted that she did in fact attempt to contact her estranged father, Thomas Markle.
A spokesperson for Meghan said on Friday that the duchess had ‘reached out’ to her father and sought help in contacting hospitals in the Philippines.
However, the Mail on Sunday reported that Mr Markle was ‘confused’ by the claim, saying he had not received any messages and that his phone number has not changed. The newspaper also reported that Meghan had sent an email to an address that had been inactive ‘for at least five years’, with Mr Markle claiming he ‘never uses email.’
Thomas reportedly underwent a three-hour operation in a Philippine hospital on Wednesday after being rushed there on Tuesday from his home on the island of Cebu. During the surgery, Thomas Markle’s left leg was amputated below the knee, after it had turned black as a result of a blood clot.
Thomas Markle Jr. told the Daily Mail his father’s leg was amputated Dec. 3 in the Philippines, where the pair have been living since the beginning of this year. According to Thomas Jr., a blood clot in his father’s thigh cut off circulation to his leg, leading to the surgery.
Thomas Jr. added that the surgery was “life or death” after his father’s foot turned “black and blue.” He explained that his father is still in an intensive care unit, and “the next two or three days are critical” to monitor for infection.
Thomas’ leg amputation follows years of health struggles. He reportedly had a stroke in 2022.Speaking to The Daily Mail on Saturday, Thomas shared that he doesn’t want to die estranged from his daughter.
“I’ve always said I am open to reconciling with my daughter. I have never stopped loving her. I don’t want to die estranged from Meghan. I want to meet my grandkids. It might be nice to meet her husband too,” he said.
The relationship between the Duchess and Thomas – who was married to Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, from 1979 to 1987 – broke down in the lead-up to her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.
Notably, Thomas was found to have colluded with photographers, who paid him for paparazzi photos showing him getting ready for the royal wedding.
King Charles ultimately walked Meghan down the aisle at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, after Thomas pulled out of attending the event, citing health problems.
Samantha Markle claimed her father had suffered two heart attacks, which prevented him from flying to London from Los Angeles.
A spokesperson said that the Duchess of Sussex contacted her father, after years of festering malice between the pair.
Markle had been upset with her father for covertly selling stories about her to the press during the early years of her marriage to Prince Harry, but critics were livid with the fact she was publicly shunning a man who paid for her acting lessons, and put her in a position to eventually become the wife of a member of the British royal family.
“I can confirm she has reached out to her father,” the spokesperson told the outlet. Meghan’s representative did not share any further details about her contact with her father. Meghan Markle’s brother, Thomas Markle Jr., originally shared the news about their father’s amputation.

The Daily Mail has previously reported that Thomas was cut off by his daughter on the eve of her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry. He said he suffered two heart attacks that prevented him from attending the ceremony in the U.K. He believes Meghan has never forgiven him.
“I still don’t know why she dumped me,” he told the outlet in March. The Daily Mail noted that Thomas relocated to the Philippines earlier this year from his previous home in Rosarito, Mexico. Meghan Markle became estranged from her father in 2018.
In Markle’s 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan told the media mogul that, before the royal wedding, she learned that her father was “working with the tabloids” to stage paparazzi photos.
“I’ve lost my father,” Markle said at the time.

“The tabloids had apparently known [his location] for a month or so and decided to hold until the Sunday before our wedding because they wanted to create drama,” she claimed.
“We called my dad, and I asked him [about staging the photos],” she said. “He said, ‘No, absolutely not.’ … I said, ‘I just need you to tell me and if you tell me the truth, we can help,’ and he wasn’t able to do that. And that, for me, has really resonated, especially now as a mother. … I genuinely can’t imagine doing anything to intentionally cause pain to my child. I can’t imagine it. So, it’s hard for me to reconcile that.”
