By James Simons-

A man has been charged in connection with murder after a fatal stabbing.

Police were called to reports of stabbing outside a restaurant called The Aura in Harrow Road, Sudbury, at 1.50am on Sunday.

The victim died a short time later despite the efforts of emergency services. He has been identified as Givani Espuet, 21, from north London.

Givani was stabbed after a fight erupted involving around 30 people, which then spilled out onto the street.

His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. The Met says that a post-mortem examination will take place today.

Theo Simon, 33, of Gladstone Avenue, Wood Green, was charged Monday (October 31) with murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

He will appear in custody at Willesden Magistrates’ Court today (November 1).

The bar had hosted a Halloween party and an eyewitness told them she watched paramedics perform CPR “for a long time” on the victim as they tried to save his life.

The force added a Specialist Crime Command team is leading the investigation and the dead man’s next of kin have been informed as enquiries continue.

The capital has been shocked by a series of killings and stabbings this weekend which has left five people dead.

Two men died after gunshots were heard in Brixton, just before 8pm yesterday Sunday, October 30 on Railton Road.

A murder investigation has also been launched following the death of a woman in Dagenham on Sunday evening.

Two women suffered stab wounds with one woman, believed aged in her 60s, pronounced dead at the scene and a second woman, believed to be in her 30’s, taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Met this morning named the victim of a fatal knife attack close to a restaurant in nearby Waterloo station on Sunday as Adrian Keise, 32, from Lambeth.

He was stabbed to death following an altercation involving two groups of men in Lower Marsh Street, close to the Cubana restaurant.
