Kylie Minogue has sent a warm message to her former lover, Jason Donavan, as she marked a special track they made together three decades ago, called ‘Especially For You”. The track’s 32nd year anniversary was marked by her sending “big love” to her fellow Aussie, Donovan, with whom she shared a beautiful romance lasting three years.
Unlike many failed relationships which end in hard feelings and bitterness, Minogue and Donavan have maintained a healthy and respectful friendship. In a message in instagram, the adorable music icon said:
“Hard to believe, but Especially For You turns … wait for it … 32!” she captioned a throwback from their cover photoshoot. “Big love @jdonofficial and all of you who have memories of this song. What does it mean to you??”
Minogue and Donavan were once lovers on television and in real life, when soap opera neighbours was one of the most enthralling soap operas watched in both the Uk and Australia. They dated for three years before splitting up in 1989. Indeed Donavan has spoken of how their separation affected him emotionally, but the two have in principle remained good friends.
Their friendship decades after their split sets a good standard for all splitting couples to emulate. How couples whose relationships end relate in the future often depends on how the relationship ended and what the individuals are like. Donavan and Minogue have shown the true quality of top human spirit in respecting each other despite the end of a love relationship each of them cherished at the time.

The couple played the onscreen lovebirds on the Aussie soap back in the ’80s and also dated for three years off set before splitting in 1989, and were adored by their legions of fans, who loved them as individuals and celebs.
