Kim Khadarshian today for the first time spoke about Kanye West’s mental illness, telling her social media followers, and indirectly, the world, how challenging life with her husband has been.
Addressing her 180 million instagram followers, the fashion mogul and global celebrity spoke about Kanye West mental illness(bipolar) in a statement aimed at mitigating some of his unpredictable actions and playing down his professed presidential ambitions.
In a detailed, candid, and emotional three paged communication with her Instagram followers on Wednesday morning, Kim said: ‘Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behaviour know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor.’
She said: ‘I understand Kanye is subject to criticism because he is a public figure and his actions at times can cause strong opinions and emotions.
He is a brilliant but complicated person who on top of the pressures of being an artist and a black man, who experienced the painful loss of his mother, and has to deal with the pressure and isolation that is heightened by his bi-polar disorder.
‘Those who are close with Kanye know his heart and understand his words some times do not align with his intentions.
Bi-Polar
‘As many of you know, Kanye has bi-polar disorder. Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand.
‘I’ve never spoken publicly about how this has affected us at home because I am very protective of our children and Kanye’s right to privacy when it comes to his health. But today, I feel like I should comment on it because of the stigma and misconceptions about mental health.
Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand.
‘I’ve never spoken publicly about how this has affected us at home because I am very protective of our children and Kanye’s right to privacy when it comes to his health. But today, I feel like I should comment on it because of the stigma and misconceptions about mental health.
‘People who are unaware or far removed from this experience can be judgemental and not understand that the individual themselves have to engage in the process of getting help no matter how hard family and friends try.
‘Living with bi-polar disorder does not diminish or invalidate his dreams and his creative ideas, no matter how big or unobtainable they may feel to some. That is part of his genius and as we have all witnessed, many of his big dreams have come true.’
Hospital
Kim and West’s mother-in-law had ‘tried to fly in with two doctors’ to put the rap star in hospital amid concerns about his well-being after his bizarre entry into the 2020 presidential race.
‘Kris and Kim put out a statement without my approval… that’s not what a wife should do,’ West deleted his late-night tweets barely half an hour after posting them, except for a final post in which he signed them off as coming from ‘the future president’.
Bust Ups
West and his wife have been engaged in regular bust ups during the Covid-19 lockdown and have a bitter divorce pending. The rap star took to twitter to criticise the antics of his wife, saying:
‘Kris and Kim put out a statement without my approval… that’s not what a wife should do,’ following reports about the Khardashian’s reactions to some of his recent behaviour.

Presidential
Kanye West has expressed interest in running for the U.S 2020 presidential elections, and filed his application with the Federal Election Commission under the banner of the Birthday Party or BDY. West says the name is chosen because ‘when we win, it’s everybody’s birthday’.
He also persuaded his supporters to sign a petition to get him on the ballot in South Carolina. Two days later, state officials say the deadline has passed and that that West did not submit the required paperwork in time. However, he is listed on the ballot in Oklahoma.
Wearing a bullet-proof jacket marked ‘security’ and with ‘2020’ shaved into his head during a South Carolina rally last Saturday, he reveals that he and Kim had considered aborting their daughter North and sparks outrage by claiming that abolitionist Harriet Tubman ‘never actually freed the slaves’.
Then on Tuesday(yesterday) he claimed he has been ‘trying to get divorced’ since Kim Kardashian allegedly met rapper Meek Mill to talk about prison reform at the Waldorf Hotel. He also calls his mother-in-law Kris Jenner ‘Kris Jong-Un’ and accuses the pair of ‘white supremacy’ in another freewheeling series of tweets. Most of his tweets are quickly deleted.
West had alleged just 24 hours earlier that ‘Kim was trying to fly to Wyoming with a doctor to lock me up like on the movie Get Out’ after his troubling appearance at the South Carolina campaign rally, his first since announcing on July 4 that he was entering the 2020 race.
‘I been trying to get divorced since Kim met with Meek at the Warldolf [sic] for ‘prison reform”, Kanye said last night, adding: ‘This my lady tweet of the night… Kris Jong-Un’..
In his next tweet he wrote: ‘Meek is my man and was respectful. That’s my dog. Kim was out of line.
‘I’m worth $5 billion and more than that through Christ. But you’ll ain’t listen to MJ but you’ll believe them???’.
