Cabinet minister, Jeremy Hunt, has got behind Theresa May, saying that no prime minister has ever been tested lime May has in living memory
In an address to the British public on Wednesday, May blamed parliament for her troubles and told the public: “I am on your side”.
The Foreign Secretary said Ms May was under “extraordinary pressure” and warned that Brexit had “sapped our national confidence”. Mr. Hunt also warned that MPs could revoke article 50 process next week if Ms May’s deal is defeated again or secure an emergency EU summit to achieve a longer delay – possibly for a Final Say referendum.
This shorter delay is to ensure the UK leaves the bloc before European elections begin on May 23. (The UK believed it could stay in the EU until June 30 without taking part in the elections, as the new term of the European Parliament doesn’t begin until July 1, but it seems that Brussels doesn’t agree with this interpretation of the rules.)

EU ambassadors met in Brussels yesterday evening to discuss the British request for a delay beyond the March 29 deadline. Sources say the common view is for the Uk to be granted a short extension of a delay for May 22, before the European elections on May 23. The British Ms May has headed for Brussels where she will formalise her request before members of the EU parliament who will call the shots on Britain’s future in these tense negotiations.
