An illegal rave with over 1,000 attendees was discovered minutes away from the Waterworks Nature Reserve, may have contributed to a spead of Covid-19

Waltham Forest Council enforcement officers and police dispersed the party at an industrial unit in Rigg Approach on July 4.

An estimated 1,500 attended the event, which was dispersed by  Waltham Council official.  The rave consisted of mainly late teenagers, with pockets of individuals in their mid to late twenties, The Eye Of Media.Com has heard. ”Many of those in attendance came from South London, they were invited by friends they have from Leytonstone and Walthamstow, one researcher from the Walthamstow area anonymously said. We managed to track down a number of those who attended the party through the simple of ordinary contacts close to those who arranged the party.  About 13 people who attended the illegal rave admitted testing positive for the corona virus. All 13 admitted they have mixed widely since the party, but mainly in South London.  Just over half of them(7) said they had mixed with people in London and Essex since the party.

Only 5 of them said they were  still self isolating since catching the virus, 3 said they had self isolated, with the remaining 5 saying they had only worn masks but not self isolated at all.  Social distancing was not observed by any stretch of the imagination”.

Last month about 600 people went to a huge rave in a house in Roxwell near Chelmsford, Essex. This led to local residents being disturbed by loud music, lots of mess and unhelpfully parked cars.

New statistics revealed that in all  but one of four South London  boroughs, rates of Covid-19  infection in South London increased in the latest recorded week, as lockdowbn measures reduce and  gyms prepare to reopen on July 25 following salons today. Rates of covid-19 infection in south east London continued to rise even as the Uk lockdown undergoes its lockdown easing process.

The rate is expressed as the new number of new cases per 100,000 population, based on the latest Public Health England figures, which are for the seven days to July 10.

A Waltham Council spokesperson told The Eye Of Media.Com: “On Saturday evening, our enforcement team were required to attend an industrial unit, alongside police officers, after 1,500 people attended an event there, in breach of the government guidelines.

“Our enforcement team will continue to monitor activity across the borough and will not hesitate to take further action to stop individuals or groups putting our wider community at risk.”

Only last month, Waltham Forest council and polic had to shut down a squatted venue just off High Road, Leytonstone that held three raves in May.

Gatherings were held at the large venue in Joseph Ray Road on May 17, May 23 and May 24.

Police attended and “spoke with the occupants” on the night of the first event and also on May 25, before a repossession notice was served on June 2.

An illegal rave in the  Uk occurs  when 20 or more people are “gathering on land in the open air” with music “that includes sounds wholly or predominantly characterised by the emission of a succession of repetitive beats” – at a level where it is loud enough to cause “serious distress to the inhabitants of the locality

Although  the lockdown in the Uk has been eased, the government’s official position is for social distancing to still be observed.  A law was recently passed banning more than 30 people gathering in any one place in order to stem the spread of the virus. The law was passed after consecutive weekends of people flocking to popular beaches to enjoy the heat.

Fresh rules are to be imposed later this month, compelling everybody in thew Uk to wear a mask when purchasing goods from shops.
