Heavy D CBB housemate planned to ruffle a few feathers at the big brother house, to see their true personalities, he has told the eye of media.com.
The self proclaimed boominator said he was being himself in the big brother house. In order to bring out other housemate’s true personalities, he argues that he needed to rough a few feathers.
Heavy D, whose real name is Collin Newell, told the eye of media.com via phone ”many people were putting on acts for the camera, but I went in there to have a laugh, and see how people really are. How people deal with pressure tells you a lot about them. A lot of what I did was tongue in cheek, done to keep things interesting”.
The storage hunters actor said his journey into public life started with Arsenal television youtube channel. ”It all started with Arsenal tv, then the idea to go into the celebrity big brother house came up, and I thought why not”.
Heavy D was involved in a few spats with housemate’s in the big brother house, but insists he didn’t take much of it to heart. ”It was about going with the flow, providing some entertainment for the viewers. Of-course I wanted to win, but I never worked on a strategy to win. What you see is what you get with me”.
What people saw gave mix signals. He once showed an admirable level of humility when he apologized for a comment deemed derogatory to one of the house mates, after been held to account by a few of the house mate’s.
A wind up merchant on TV Channel Dave, Storage Hunters, Heavy D hit nerves from time to time in the big brother house, but is clearly capable of serious engagements without the traits of mischief that characterizes the act most people are accustomed to.
However, in another scenario, he was seen angrily throwing food on the floor in a scene that did not bode well for his image. Yet, for the larger than life personality, this was basically depicting a role of a person responding in anger. ”It does’t mean I was that angry, it just means I was playing the role”. There comes moments in life where you act under impulse and don’t really care, and that scene reflected one of those moments”, he says speaking fast, as he emphasizes his point. I may have been that angry, and I may not have been”.
”Some people don’t know how to take me”, he says , “but a complete character can adapt to any type of person they meet. You see in life, you will meet people who wind you up. They may wind you you up by telling you something true about yourself you don’t want to hear. You may not even believe it is true, but whether you can respond with composure is an important question”.Stephen Bear at one point.
Apart from ruffling a few feathers, heavy d says he was also protecting housemate’s from ”Many people found him a hand full, and I did try to protect them from him”.Vilified by his house mates after a while, the threat of the incensed group colluding to eject him from the house was hanging over his head toward the end. The threat was made uncertain by the possibility of Stephen Bear being ejected too, but he survived that particular eviction.
Driven by a goal to succeed, CBB housemate Heavy D is full of plans for his future. The celebrity big brother house where he was evicted a few days ago, seems to be one stop on a journey that is still ongoing. Some of his handlers have told the eye of media.com that that big acting roles lie in wait for him, and there has even been some talk of television advertising. But the man himself confirmed nothing to the eye of media.com.
Heavy D is not your regular guy when it comes to his outlook and purpose. He is driven by multiple goals, not immediately obvious at first glance. He is a character that inevitably splits opinions, but fancies his chances of being a force of sorts in the amorphous world of television.
”You will have to wait and see, he said. In life , you have to have a dream, and pursue your dream to the very end”, he said. ”I have so much more to give” A big fashion lover, heavy d has many of his clothes specially designed for him, including the bright unusually different attire he wore in the celebrity big brother’s house.

His ostensibly impulsive shouts of ”boom” came across as an irritant to many, but also had its distinguishing feature of being a phrase exclusively attributable to the man alone. It could potentially serve other unforeseeable purposes beneficial to him.
A character that inevitably splits opinions, Heavy D fancies his chances of being a force of sorts in the amorphous world of television. His foot is already in the door, so how far it stretches is to be seen.
Heavy d will continue to make appearances on our screens- this will not be the last we see of him. It will be no surprise if he takes the path of films or comedy, heavy d is not a man one can predict.
