Heavy D Joins 15 Contestants On Celebrity Big Brother

By Lucy Caulkett

Heavy D, an actor on Dave channel’s storage hunters is the surprise contestant to the celebrity big brother house this year.

Surprise, because theeyeofmedia.com has covered him over three times recently. Dressed in a loud multicoloured outfit, heavy D was bursting with energy, full of life, with his boom trademark.

Heavy D describes himself as a fashion guru and brings a presence to the house that will be noticed by other contestants there. In storage hunters, he plays the role of a nuisance who disrupts the others but told the eye of media.com in his last interview, that it is just a role that doesn’t reflect his true character. However,  it will be interesting to see how he gets on with the others.

He may turn out to be a very annoying housemate, or may reveal another side to him views are not familiar with. Heavy D has his own youtube channel called Arsenal tv and is an avid Arsenal fan who once told the eye of media.com that he feels a statue should be made of Arsene Wenger. This, despite the call for the Arsenal Wenger to step down at the time.

Heavy D is a man like no other, who is bound to bring a very different energy to the house one other contestant may not have bargained for.

Other celebs in the house include 67-year-old Pantomime star Biggins, 67, who entered the house first, and issued a warning to bullies.

He said: “I don’t like bullies and I will not sit back and see someone bully someone else. I would not put up with that. Bullies beware.”

AMERICAN

The first American celebrity to enter the house was 33-year-old Frankie Grand. A musical theatre star, Grand recently starred on the American version of Big brother. the older half-brother of pop superstar Ariana Grande and recently starred on the American version of Big Brother.

EASTENDERS AND RADIO PRESENTER

EastEnders star Ricky Norwood,  known as Fatboy, was also a surprise contestant in the house. Eastenders fans will be keen to see how he gets on with other characters in the house.

Radio and TV broadcaster, James Whale was a bit shocking when he claimed men and women can never be equal.  A presenter for more than 40 years, the 65-year-old was a host on LBC from 2008 to 2013.  His comment was not a good start to the big brother house, but he later explained ungrammatically that” women are more equal than men,” whatever he meant by that.

The broadcaster may have just saved his ass with that comment, as we thought he was going on the sexual discrimination route before then.

He clearly likes a bit of controversy, and went further to show that when he said he and former Ukip leader Nigel Farage are “quite pally”.

OTHER CONTESTANTS

Other contestants include, reality TV star, Stephen Bear from Ex On The Beach swore repeatedly while being interviewed by host Emma Willis.

The 25-year-old is the former flame of Geordie Shore and Loose Women regular Vicky Pattison.

Former X Factor contestant Katie Waissel described herself as being “not away with the fairies, I’m very grounded”. She starred in the 2010 series of the singing competition.

Waissel referenced her controversial stint on the ITV singing show, saying: “I just don’t want to even address it. When I was on the X Factor I think people got to see the wrong side of me.

“Life on the X Factor was definitely an experience . I wanted to shut myself in a dark room and I pretty much did that for a long time.”

Other names who entered the house include former The Only Way Is Essex, Lewis Bloor and Grant Bovey, the ex-husband of Anthea Turner.

Bovey was declared bankrupt in 2010 before his marriage to Turner ended following an affair.

He gave a frank introductory message saying he had made “mistakes in my life”.

He said: “If I could have my time again, there are certain things I would change. Public perception (of me) is not great at all. Once people decide they want to portray you as a villain it’s very difficult to break those shackles.

“I have lots of regrets. I regret all the hurt I caused … to my first wife and to Anthea, there are things there I am not proud of.”

Playboy model Chloe Khan, 25, described herself as being a self-proclaimed princess and “quite bloody confident”.

She appeared on the X Factor in 2010 under the name Chloe Mafia.

SECRET BOSS

Biggins was made the “secret boss” of the Celebrity Big Brother house as contestants were given their first task. The television show created the concept of the ‘secret boss’- a title that will give the selected housemate special powers that include immunity from the first eviction and control over nominations.

Biggins was granted  the title following a public vote, but it was later revealed to them that the task was a joke. The eye of media.com will be following the show closely and liaising with the show’s organisers, bringing you analysis on it from time to time.
