Health Worker Is Unluckiest Girl Of 2020

By Charlotte Webster-

Health worker, Vera Ajoku is the unluckiest girl of 2020, after she handed £5, 138 to fraudsters claiming to  be from HMRC after she was shown a fake HMRC letter head.

The 29 year – old wasted no time in transferring the money online, after she fell for the trick by Asian sounding men who told her she faced an imminent arrest as well as losing all her assets and belongings.

The former model , whose foray into modelling was short lived due to lack of adequate work, two weeks later was duped of £1600 by a pay pal fraudster online after she purchased expensive painting using a ‘friend and family’ option provided, which meant paypal could wash their hands off it. The culprit made off with the money,

Her bank, Nationwide, promised to reimburse her  15 days later, which occurred yesterday. However, after paying her, Nationwide told her they would investigate the matter further and take the money they have returned back if they find she approved the payment.  Angry Vera said: but they know I approved the payment, but that’s because I assumed it was a genuine process. Paypal is supposed to protect everyone who uses their services.

Dumped

Only three months earlier, Ms Ajoku had been brutally dumped by her ex-fiancee, Jay after a wedding she planned at the beginning of the year was cancelled due to the pandemic.

Her boyfriend of 5 years, walked out unexpectedly in August, leaving a note explaining he could not lead her on anymore. Ms Ajoku was extremely distraught and embarrassed , and went into a depression, which she said she had to manage while working as a key worker at Southend hospital in Essex.

Alongside other allegations Ms Ajoku told this publication she wanted her boyfriend exposed for mistreating  and stealing from her , She provided the details of this investigation, presented to us on Christmas eve, as his Christmas present to the insensitive man who she says was heartless in her treatment of her.

She claimed the break up caused her mental health illness in the form of sleepless nights and suicidal thoughts. She decided to move out of the flat she shared with her ex fiancee to banish the bad memories she said would haunt her if she remained there.

Ms Ajoku subsequently moved to a shared accommodation in Eastwood, occupied by people who held night parties when she wanted to sleep to wake up on time for her long , early shifts.

The landlord of that property took a deposit without a tenancy agreement, and she accepted out of desperation. Her stay there was short, as she was forced to move out due to the noise, and the fact the landlady admitted to going into her room without her permission while she was at work.

A week later Ms Ajokwu crashed her new Hyonda as a first time driver, but escaped unscathed.

She said: ”I want him exposed. He wasted 5 years of my life and had no shame in taking some of my belongings with him. Asked why she still pursued him up to two months after he had gone, she responded: ”I was absolutely devastated by the way he walked out on me. I did everything for this man, fed him, clothed him, he lived with me for four years and never paid a penny on rent. He is a disgusting human being to walk out on me like that”

He may well me, but it was dim of her to still pursue a man for marriage, after he left her and apparently took her belongings
She earns the title of unluckiest and dimmest girl of 2020.
