Romanian Hacker Sentenced to 52 Months Jail For Exposing Hilary Clinton’s Emails

By Aaron Miller-

A Romanian hacker who exposed the emails of Hilary Clinton has been jailed for 52 months by a U.S federal judge in Virginia.

Level Guccifer, a former taxi driver and paint salesman  extradited to the U.S in 2014 pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated theft and unauthorized use of a computer.

An intrusive hacker, the computer wiz admitted hacking over 100 Americans in a 14 months period.

“This epidemic must stop”, District judge, James Caldris said as he  explained that he had given the notorious hacker close to the maximum sentence of 54 months under U.S law, in order to serve as a deterrent to other hackers.

Guccifer was also responsible for exposing email communications between  former Secretary of State, Collins Powell and Cornard Creton, an EU parliamentarian.

That particular hacking compelled the former Secretary of State to deny there was an affair going on between the two, but the email compromise  served the negative purpose of giving that impression.

Guccifer is also said to have compromised the email of a member of former  president George Bush’s family, releasing a photo of George W. Bush  himself when he was in hospital, and a self portrait of the former president.

A talented and  dangerous  man capable of causing so much problems, Guccifer will have plenty of time in jail  to contemplate his offences. Hopefully, it will serve as a deterrent to other hackers.
