GunMan On Loose in Sheffield Terrifies Residents

By Sammie Jones-

A gunman is on the loose in Sheffield, Yorkshire, following reports he was sighted entering a disused brewery at 5.15a.m this morning, Friday.

Armed police have been looking for the gunman for a few hours now, and have cordoned off a Long  area around Neepsend Lane, in response to the terrifying knowledge that has gripped that part of Yorkshire.

The gunman is not said to have threatened anyone yet, but wide uncertainty about the intentions of a man with a gun always heightens anxiety for those who have no idea what he intends to do with his gun.

Sheffield is a neighbouring town to Leeds, where former likeable Mp, Joe Cox was y
tragically murdered last month. Sheffield is no stranger to violent gun offences, so a loose gunman is no comforting thought to think about.

News
The news was first broken in The Sun Newspaper, after which a representative from the eye of media.com rushed to the scene to check out what was going on.

Residents in the area immediately took to social media to ring warnings around my phone, and also tweet the troubling news around. One local woman, Sharon Martley, told the eye of media.com.

“My 16-year-old was out last night at his girlfriend’s. When I heard the news, I immediately called my boy and told him to just stay at where he was until the gunman is caught.

It is scary to think there is a gun man lurking around because nobody knows when he will re-emerge or not. People in the area seem terrified, as locals surmise the reason the man is in possession of the gun.

SOUTH YORKSHIRE POLICE

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said:
“There is currently a high police presence in the Neepsend Lane area of the city, and there is the significant disruption for traffic and pedestrians due to a number of closed roads.

“Reports were received at around 5.15a.m that a man had been seen with what is believed to be a firearm, entering a disused brewery at the back of Neepsend Lane”.

“Officers were immediately deployed and secured the scene. The area being searched for the man within the brewery and disused land is vast, and to ensure the safety while this carried out, a number of  roads have been cordoned off and will remain closed throughout the morning”.

The gun man is.likely to have taken refuge in the home of a friend or associate in order to escape capture. A gun man remains on the loose in Sheffield.
