“Ethical journalism” is about writing the stories that the public want and needs to hear rather than “clickbait.” It is about making quality decision-making information accessible to the readers who will benefit most.

Ethical standards are driven by a passion for the general public to be equipped with the most up-to-date knowledge from journalists who genuinely care about the impact of the opinion of the people.

Journalists who work ethically also have an understanding of the responsibility of the media in society and how the dissemination of information flows naturally between every walk of life.

Ethical journalism is the conscience of the industry for those who aim to shine a light on the positive results that can be achieved though a plethora of sophisticated media channels.

In a modern world ethics can counteract the torrent of “fake news” and help people worldwide to navigate their way through its quagmire.

The results of ethical journalism then becomes a ‘Mexican wave’ where traditional word of mouth about the news takes over in boosting the reputation of the journalist(s) and the media industry.”

Ethics can however be subjective, with respect to its scope and understanding.
