Eastender’s son, Troy Melvin Griffiths, has been fined  a total sum of £777 for drinking and driving  a car without insurance. Troy is the son of Eastenders star, roger Griffiths, who plays Mitch in the soap opera.

Roger Griffiths first rose to prominence opposite Lenny Henry as Gareth Blackstock’s foil Everton Stonehead in BBC One 1990s sitcom Chef!. Before starring in Chef, Griffiths played a minor role as a news reporter in the Channel 4 British sitcom Desmond’s in 1990. Later in 1990, he appeared in an episode of Birds of a Feather, series two, episode 4 ‘Muesli’ as Daryl’s fellow inmate.

Troy , 25 , one of the Eastender’s star’s three children, was being  helpful when he agreed to drive his cousin’s  car who asked him to drive him because he was drunk.

However, Troy had himself had too many to drink that night and parked his own car in front of his £350,000 property  in Chalkwell, Essex. His kindness was ill judged.  His drunk cousin got away without any issues with the cops, even though it was his car being driven.

Essex police said that on June 6, 2022 at Southend on sea in the county of Essex, that Mr. griffiths   used a motor vehicle. namely Silver BMW, on a road, or other public place, namely, Chichester Road Southend on sea, when there was not in force in relation to that use such a policy of insurance or such a security in respect of third party

Cops said Troy had consumed so much alcohol that the proportion of it in your breath, namely 70 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.  Contrary to section 5(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and Schedule 2 to the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.

The court also heard that on the 13th of June  at Southend on Sea, he  failed without reasonable cause to
surrender to custody at Southend on Sea Magistrates’ Court. He told the court he had read the bail sheet wrongly and incorrectly read the date of his case.

According to the extract, he has been given a deadline of 08/09/2022 to pay the fine.

He was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 19 months to be reduced by 19 weeks if by 16th of August , 2023.unless the defendant satisfactorily completes a course approved by the Secretary of State.

A source close to the star’s son told The Eye Of Media.Com. ”Troy was relieved. He could have been fined  a lot more money than £777. He is a nice guy, he was only trying to help out , but was not in a state of mind to drive.  He was only driving five minutes up the road, and was unlucky to get pulled. I guess he has now learnt that sometimes it not good to be too nice to people. Although he is the son of an Eastenders star, he is low profile and generally very humble”.

The calm mannered youngster has never been covered in the  press  before and of good character.
