Deontey Wilder Attacked By Fury Fans Over Video Clip

By Gabriel Princewill-

Deontey Wilder has been  attacked by Tyson Fury fans after he uploaded a video of his training session online. The video which features Wilder training on boxing pads has led to skepticism from boxing fans, many believed to be supporters of Fury. They have ridiculed the WBC’s champion’s chances of success at the Las Vegas Resort next month, despite Wilder being favourite to win.

The American champion can be seen landing a few left jabs before setting himself up for his big trademark  bomb overhead right. Fans have criticized the  fact Wilder appears to be missing in the clips, but how much one can extrapolate from a clip like that may be contentious. Could Wilder be trying to lure his opponent and fans to a false sense of security? Or is he exhibiting signs he is about to be beaten in his most significant fight so far?

RIPPED

Wilder looks ripped and athletic in the footage, but doesn’t appear to make much connections with the pads as he throws his vicious punches. The unbeaten world champion who boasts 39 knockouts from all of his 40 wins appears in rehearsal  mode in the training clips, but his detractors believe it reflects what he brings to the table.

Some fight fans have derided the footage.  The uploader  of the  footage  posted it unto unto Twitter with the caption: “How will Deontay Wilder land one of his trademark windmills on Tyson Fury when he struggles to even hit the pads?” The Uk’s Daily Star shared the video which showed the reaction of fans to Wilder’s training posted online by the Alabama native. .Many were critical of Wilder, concluding from the clip that the American has nothing on unbeaten gypsy man, Tyson Fury.

The footage has so far  fetched over 300,000 hits since it was shared yesterday. As public interest in the world title showdown grows with each passing days, so does speculation about the eventual outcome. The media is enjoying it too.

”He is awful,” one social media user said . “He has to think about moving his feet and when he thinks about it he can’t think about throwing shots.”

Another added: “He has absolutely zero balance or rhythm.”Not a huge Fury fan and despite the long lay off it wouldn’t surprise me if he wins every second of every round.” And a third claimed: “He looks awful Fury will knock him out”. Fury’s fans may want to be careful not to rile Wilder so much that he launches a devastating attack against their man come December 1st. Fury’s fans do’t think Wilder has anything on Fury.

INTRIGUING

With three weeks to go before both men put their reputations and safety on the line, the build up is set to be one of the most intriguing in the sports premiere division. This world title fight pits two unbeaten  heavyweight extroverts against each other, both of whom are adamant they are the world’s best. Some critics discredit Wilder’s unorthodox style that has seen him come up trumps in all his 40 outings. They say Wilder hasn’t been tested, and believe Fury will end his unbeaten reign.

Fury earned world boxing acclaim when he beat Wladimir Klitschko on points in 2015. Wilder will be Fury’s biggest fight to date, but will also present Wilder with his biggest challenge yet. Fury’s fans may

At this stage, Tyson Fury’s fans may be excited about the prospect of their man winning, but the question is also how much of the footage provides an accurate basis for predicting the outcome of this big fight.  That’s all fans can go by at the moment- their perception of the two fighters and how it fits in with the training regime observed on posted videos.

SUBJECTIVE

It is all subjective, and how much  sparring sessions and video footage tell us about what to expect in the ring is debatable. One certainty is that the winner of this fight will have serious bragging rights once they have won. A Fury victory will truly be one of the biggest heavyweight comeback of all times , as the big man himself says.  Fury will feel untouchable. As for Wilder, victory giant an unbeaten giant like Fury for him will stamp his authority on the division even more.
