Cops Release CCTV Of Canning Town Shootings

By Eric King-

CCTV images of two men have been released by cops after a shooting in Butchers Road, Canning Town.

Cops believe the shooting which took place on December 30, a couple of days before new year’s day, may have links with subsequent shootings that occurred in Stratford, East London, last week.

Two people were shot in Stratford last week- one in Romford Road, and the other in Carpenters road in Stratford

The disturbing CCTV footage shows the suspect chasing down another man along Butchers Road between parked cars. There was clearly a tense dispute between the pair, that they did not consider the well-known presence of CCTV cameras in many public places in Britain. Moments later, the man being pursued decided it was time to be on the offensive, and took out a handgun from another male’s bag.

The man with the shotgun then fired about two blasts in his rival’s direction, but missed his target

Metropolitan cops were alerted to reports of shots being fired in the street at around 3.25am on Saturday, December 30. Cops say a man in a red top bravely attempted to try to calm the situation, pushing back both suspects at different times.

With no arrests made and enquiries ongoing, detectives released CCTV images earlier today of two men they are searching for in connection with the attack.

The first suspect is described as a black male wearing black: joggers, trainers and a coat with a light-coloured fur hood.

The second suspect is a black male who wore a knee-length coat with a hood and baseball cap.Detective Con Sameera Bhatti said;

“We are committed to tackling gun crime and it is paramount that both men are identified so these firearms can be taken off the streets,” said Det Con Sameera Bhatti.

“If you were in the area at the time and have any information that could help identify these suspects then please let us know.”
