Conor Mcgreggor Announces Retirement From Mixed Martial Art

Connor Mcgreggor has announced his retirement from mixed martial art on a twitter post .

Conor McGregor has not fought since October 6, when he was submitted by UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov at Maddison Square Gardens in an explosive night in New York. The popular fighter posted: “Hey guys quick announcement, I’ve decided to retire from the sport formally known as “Mixed Martial Art” today.McGregor was suspended until April 6 following a post-fight brawl with Nurmagomedov and his crew.He had been in line to fight Donald ‘Cowboy’ Corrone in the summer, but the fight was reportedly scrapped after ‘The Notorious’ refused to fight a co-headline slot.

“I now join my former partners on this venture, already in retirement.

“Proper Pina Coladas on me fellas!”

McGregor was suspended until April 6 following a post-fight brawl with Nurmagomedov and his crew.

He had been in line to fight Donald ‘Cowboy’ Corrone in the summer, but the fight was reportedly scrapped after ‘The Notorious’ refused to fight a co-headline slot.

He told ESPN: “He has the money to retire and his whiskey is KILLIN it.

“It totally makes sense.

“If I was him i would retire too.

“He’s retiring from fighting. Not from working.

“The whiskey will keep him busy and I’m sure he has other things he’s working on.

“He has been so fun to watch!! He has accomplished incredible things in this sport.

“I am so happy for him and I look forward to seeing him be as successful outside of the octagon as he was in it.”

Since his defeat to Nurmagomedov, McGregor has been out promoting his own brand whiskey ‘Proper 12’, and even referred to MMA as his “third source of income”.

Speaking to Jimmy Fallon just hours before the tweet was sent, the superstar declared that he did not need to fight again.

“We’re in talks for July. There’s a lot of politics going on, it’s a mad game, the fight game,” he said.

“To my fans, I am in shape and I am ready.
