A rapist who launched a cocaine-fueled attack on his victim before being saved by police has been jailed.
28 year old Martin Brooker had been drinking and taking the Class A drug with his victim at a Leyton flat before he suddenly demanded unprotected sex from the woman.
The woman declined his unwanted advances, but Brooker proceeded to punch her all over the body and pulled out large chunks of her hair before forcing her to perform a sex act on him. Frightened and horrified, the woman locked herself in a room after the assault and armed herself with a knife, in fear that she was about to become a murder victim. Police rushed to the scene and arrested Booker, of High Road, Leyton, after the victim’s friend called 999.
Judge Nicholas Sanders jailed him for nine years at Snaresbrook Crown Court .
Brooker admitted attacking the woman, and claimed she had stolen a ring passed down to him from his father, but denied raping her.
The ring was later found hidden in chest of drawers.
Prosecutor David Harounoff said:
“There came a point when he said he really wanted to have sex.
“She then told the defendant she was not interested in having sex with him.“He persuaded her to have sex with him, and they had sex on two occasions with her consent. He then tried to have unprotected sex and she objected.
“She then described a sudden and very violent move. He pulled her hair, put his penis into her mouth.
“He repeatedly beat her, he used his fists to repeatedly punch her with great force over her face and body.”
“She was distraught and scared but said ‘I promise I won’t report you’, she fled upstairs. He knocked on the door asking how she was, apologising.”
The court heard how at 5.30am, the victim had phoned her friend, who later noticed she had missed two calls and a series of WhatsApp messages pleading with her to call the police.
POLICE ARRIVAL
Upon arrival at the scene around 6am, officers found the victim trying to escape the flat from a window.
Booker told police the sex he had with her was consensual . “I did not make any advances against her will”, in a prepared statement after his arrest.
He added: “I then noticed that my ring and watch, which I had on my chest of drawers was missing.
“My father gave me the ring, it had sentimental value, I got angry and assaulted her for stealing my ring.”
Mr Harounoff added:
“That explanation is a lie, because we have the watch and the ring.
“She never took it. The reason why this defendant fabricated the story is because he committed a frenzied and violent attack to facilitate the act of rape.”
Men like Brooker are a menace to society and a danger to women. Women who read this article should take a good look at this man, and even store a copy of it. He will serve half of his sentenced be out in four and a half years in 2022. Stay well away from him and do not befriend him. Warn your friends the same, he is very dangerous!
