BT To Share Fury And Wilder Rights After Beating Sky For Television Rights

By Tim Parsons-

BT  has beaten Sky in the bid to stage the big heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury and Deontey Wilder, next month, February 22.

Ever since Fury magically rose from what was intended to be a last round explosive knockdown to finish on his feet, his marketability has risen sharply in both the U.K and the U.S. The incredible Brit was out for at least four seconds before defying the odds to rise to his feet and continue fighting

The pay-per-view telecast in America will be shared between ESPN and Fox Sports, who are bank-rolling Fury’s $80m deal for which t the third of five fights.  Fight fans are split between the pair, but many Brits will back Fury who moves incredibly well for a big man of over 18.5 stones and also has very good boxing schooling.

The gypsy king will be up against  a major unbeaten puncher who holds the WBC belt and has faith is his magical punch which has seen him through so far.

PUNCH

Fury can soak a punch tremendously well, but will be using his unorthodox skills to try and frustrate Wilder and prevent him landing with the right hand, whilst Fury himself turns on the heat in a way he did not do last time. The problem for Wilder is Fury’s unpredictability as a big agile man who can be very aggressive when he chooses.

Fury will just have to prevent Wilder from landing at will since the U.S puncher is not known to knock out opponents with every punch that lands. At his best, Fury can easily take Wilder’s WBC belt if he can dictate the pace and frustrate Wilder’s dangerous hand from landing as often as the American wants it to.

Unbeaten heavyweight: Tyson Fury

Ahead of a press conference to promote the fight, Fury, 31, said:

He said: “Wilder, you wanna show up tomorrow you little b***h and not s*** yourself like you’ve been doing for the last year or so.

“Don’t want no part in the Gypsy Kind do ya, you’re gonna get smashed.

“Tomorrow I start living in your head rent free you little b***h. See you there.
