Britney Spears has published topless pictures of herself on social media, after it was announced the U.S star is under investigation . for battery.
The singer has taken to sharing topless photos of herself on Instagram and continued the trend yesterday with another set of new images.
Britney is featured holding a red rose and wearing a pair of red knee-high boots. The caption reads, ‘There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age.’ – Sophia Loren.’
The posts come after it was reported that one of Britney’s house staff this week filed a battery complaint against the singer, alleging she slapped her phone out of her hand over a disagreement about the health of her dogs.
Police officers attended Spears’s home in southern California after the staff member reported the dispute on Monday night, the Ventura county sheriff’s office said. No one was injured.
Britney’s lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, called the claims, which were filed with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, ‘overblown sensational tabloid fodder,’ pointing out that the sheriff’s report described the incident as a ‘very minor misdemeanour’ with ‘no injuries.’
‘Anyone can make an accusation, but this should have been closed immediately,’ Rosengart said in a statement emailed to Buzzfeed, calling the accusation ‘nothing more than a manufactured ‘he said she said” story.
Britney hasn’t responded to the allegations, and carried on with her usual carefree social media routine by posting a video of her smiling and dancing to Prince’s Sexy M.F, with the caption ‘I told you I really like @Prince.’
The singer has been embroiled in a row with her father over his control of her financial affairs for months now.
Her father, Jamie Spears, last week agreed to step down from his long-time role as conservator of his daughter Britney Spears’ estate “when the time is right,” according to court filings.
His departure came nearly two months after the singer spoke in court and called for an end to the controversial arrangement that has controlled her life for 13 years, giving her father and others authority over her personal life and career.
Fans and supporters of Britney Spears outside the LA county courthouse last week to support the singer, after she made it clear she wants the conservatorship terminated but that her top priority for now is ousting her father .
In a court filing last week, a lawyer for Jamie Spears wrote that Jamie “does not believe that a public battle with his daughter over his continuing service as her conservator would be in her best interests”, adding, “Mr Spears intends to work with the court and his daughter’s new attorney to prepare for an orderly transition to a new conservator.” The filing said that Jamie had “already been working on such a transition” with his daughter’s previous lawyer.
The latest battery charge will do little to stem her longstanding battle with mental health.
Britney checked into a California mental health facility in late March for a 30-day stay, following the stress of her dad’s hospitalization, and the complex process of changing the medications she had been taking for an undisclosed mental illness.
