British Public Prepare For Hot And Sunny Easter Weekend

By Charlotte Webster-

The British public are preparing for a hot Easter weekend- one of the hottest on record. Temperatures are expected to rise to 25C in some parts of the UK.

People in the West Midlands and South Yorkshire will get the best of the warm weather on Easter Sunday, according to Met Office meteorologist Alex Burkill.
“The warmest ever Easter Sunday on record is only 25.3C, which was recorded in 2011 in Solent, Hampshire,” he told i. “It’s not out of the question that we’ll beat that on Sunday but it’s unlikely.”

A majority of the Uk is expected to bask in glorious sunshine over the long weekend before temperatures begin to drop at the beginning of next week. On Thursday, the weather will be fine and dry but clear skies mean the temperature will hover around the low single figures for most of the UK.

“There will be a chilly start to Good Friday,” said Mr Burkill. “Good Friday itself will be a fine day for the bulk of the UK with just a few showers in Scotland and north-east England. They will be light and scattered.”There will be widespread heat with temperatures expected to exceed 20C in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.Temperatures will continue to climb on Saturday with highs of 24C predicted in London. anchester and Cardiff will be a tad cooler at 23C, with 20C in Edinburgh and 19C in Belfast.

The heat will begin to dip on Easter Monday but it is still expected to be mostly fine and sunny. The temperature will get to 22C in London and 20C in Manchester. In Cardiff it will be around 19C, with 16C expected in Belfast and 14C in Edinburgh.
