ONE YEAR TO GO
We are, with just one year to go until the epic battle between Batman and Superman hits out cinema screens. Warner Brothers, whom are only 8 years away from celebrating their 100th anniversary are giving us a little insight into the movies villain. Jesse Eisenberg, who made his debut in 1999 with his role in the comedy-drama television series “Get Real” has been cast as the bald villain Lex Luthor. This isn’t the ordinary role that Jesse is seen doing, he wasn’t truly recognised until he portrayed Mark Zuckerberg the founder of Facebook in the 2010 film “The social network” with singer Justin Timberlake, although some may know him better from his 2005 flick “The Squid and the Whale”. His new endeavour which is titled so appropriately “The dawn of justice”. Director Zack Snyder spoke of the actor in a good light “He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure, other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course….Our Lex is disarming and he’s not fake. He says what he believes and he says what’s on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it’s all there.”
WHO REPLACES HEATH LEDGER:
Australian born actor Heath Ledger died on the 22nd of January 2008 from an accidental intoxication of prescription drugs. The actor had been filming the Dark knight the previous year and got into his role whilst also dealing with his sleeping problems. The “Knight’s tale” hunk became dependant on his medications: but a few months before he died unexpectedly, Ledger had fortunately finished filming his performance as the sick and twisted Joker in “The Dark Knight”. Till this day he is saluted as the best Joker we’ve ever seen, so the actor taking his place has big boots to fill. Who has the role I hear you ask? Ben Affleck is the man for the job director Zack seems to think, although his rendition of “Daredevil” in 2003 has us thinking otherwise.
CAST: Along with Eisenberg and Affleck the film will be giving us a dose of Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Jeremy Irons, Jena Malone, Holly Hunter and Scoot McNairy. We get to welcome back “Matrix” actor whose most called upon for his role as Morpheus – Laurence Fishburne (Where has he been?), excuse us whilst we get a lot more excited with this line-up! We also get to see 31 year old Henry Cavill return, he was the former Superman from the 2013 “Man of Steel” playing thee Man of Steel. Wonder Woman is played by the Israeli model Gal Gadot who has played roles in two “Fast and furious” editions from 2009 and 2013. Zack Snyder has us waiting one whole year until we get to digest the full awesomeness of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The mark of a good villain is how he knows to stop his monologue before he gives away too much of his plan. That’s also the mark of a good superhero-franchise director.
WHAT’S NEXT:
A juicy cameo from Aquaman sets him up for the 2017’s movie “Justice League” and we are told that Wonder Woman’s role is also leaving the door open for her return. So this first instalment is definitely leading us to bigger movies from the director, he has every intention to keep the door open with his characters but on the down sound it will have us waiting one year plus for our next fix. Jack Snyder is an outstanding director he’s given us some of my favourite movies and I’m sure he’s supplied you with yours. Jack bought you “300” in 2004!! “THIS IS SPARTAAAAA” Come on now, we’ve all done that haha. He overdosed us with the likes of “Dawn of The dead”, “Watchmen”, and “Suckerpunch” and just so you know here’s what we have to look forward too
