Angry Rogue Landlord Receives Council Tax Liability Order Of £700

By Gavin Mackintosh-

Essex rogue landlord has received a council liability order of £700 at Southend Magistrates Court for none payment of Council Tax. The notorious landlord who owns an estimated £600, 000 property in Southend On Sea in Essex, was summoned to court on Wednesday over Council Tax debts on the same morning he was in court for breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order imposed by Basildon Magistrates Court in September 2018. Mr.Crow on that occasion was fined £44k  for breaching safety standards as the manager of an Hmo property .

Crow, who appealed the decision, succeeded in securing an appeal date after being granted leave for appeal at Basildon Crown Court. However, Southend Council lodged a case against him for breaching a court order which appeared to prohibit him from having residents at his property, following complaints of nuisance and criminal behaviour at his property. His property, located at a desirable conservatory area inhabited by clean cut professionals, has regularly been the centre of police attendance, legal summons, and financial debt.

Crow has refused to attend to letters requesting Council Tax payments, protesting that the charges should go to the tenants themselves, not himself. He further claims that the council tax requests for separate flats contradicts an HMO conviction issued by the courts in which he has been fined a total  £80,000 , excluding costs. In that regards, he says the Council Tax calculations are wrong, but has never attempted to address this with the Council Tax Department in writing. A Council Tax representative from Southend Council told The Eye Of Media.Com that it was for mr.Crow to ”contest any issues he has with the status of the property with the relevant bodies” but that their role was to issue out the appropriate tax figures to him.

At his Criminal Behaviour Order case, legal counsel from Charles Wilson Solicitors in Leigh On Sea representing mr.Crow for the first time, successfully adjourned the court hearing to April 17 on health grounds. The solicitors firm was hired at the last minute by a panicking member of mr.Crow’s family, many of whom he has  an estranged relationship over his handling of his property and other private family issues. It is about the fourth time the courts have adjourned a case in this bitter battle with the Council over health issues. Crow plans to appeal for an adjournment of tomorrow’s appeal hearing, citing ongoing illness from the stress of mounting court cases.

He told this Eye Of Media.Com:

”I am a victim of a mass conspiracy by Southend Council, The Magistrates Courts, and my neighbours. I am constantly being chased by lenders over mortgage arrears, and now I have been given three court cases in a space of two days. The Council have stopped my money on the one hand, but are demanding Council Tax from me on the other hand, and suffocating me with multiple cases. They are trying to kill me and force me out of here, but I am not going to go that easily. I am barely managing to feed.

” I am suffering from severe flu, I dragged myself to the courts yesterday, but was ill before and during the case, even my solicitor was worried he would catch my flu every time I sneezed and coughed. I don’t think people understand how emotionally and physically draining this monstrous conspiracy against me by  The Southend Council is. They have mounted a merciless campaign against me, and appear to have succeeded in getting the courts to believe their lies.

Nobody seems to care that I am a Christian  humanitarian who is saving lives. This country has a homeless crisis, and I am being unjustly persecuted for accommodating the homeless. I hate to say this, but sometimes I wonder whether the Magistrates Courts are not in bed with The Council.

The Council want me to kick everyone out, and leave them in the streets to die. They have offered no alternative accommodation for them, and stropped my money. The order is unreasonable because it is contradictory, and there is no way I can force my residents to leave. The police has not co-operated with me in ejecting anybody”.

One of Crow’s neighbours who has given statements to the Court against Crow told The Eye Of Media.Com: Mr. Crow is a nasty human being who exploits the vulnerability of the homeless. His claims to be a christian or a humanitarian is absolute nonsense. He exploits the fact that only desperate individuals with nowhere to live would choose to live in that squalor. He is deluded, and doesn’t care about anybody but himself. We cannot wait to see the back of him, these adjournments are so frustrating for all of us”.

A Southend Council spokesman told The Eye Of Media.Com that ” mr Crow is a private landlord  who is responsible for evicting his tenants. The council would assist any of the tenants to find appropriate alternative accommodation via our usual procedures”.
