President Joe Biden Unhappy With Supreme Court’s Unchanged Ruling On Texas Abortion Ban

By Aaron Miller-

U.S president , Joe Biden, has expressed discontent  with  the Supreme’s Court unchanged ruling on the Texas near-total abortion ban, the White House has said that Biden is “concerned” about the Texas law staying in effect and is “deeply committed” to Roe v Wade.

The White House also said that the ruling today is a reminder that the right to abortion access needs to be codified.

During a press briefing today, White House Press Secretary, Jen Psaki addressed the Scotus ruling today, saying that Biden is concerned that the abortion ban will remain in place.

Psaki also noted “how much these rights are at risk” and the need to legislate on abortion access through Women’s Health Protection Act, which passed the House in September but has been  in limbo in the Senate.

Psaki did nto specify on how she expected the bill to get passed through the Senate, saying there was nothing new to add on that.

However, Biden’s administration is determined to fight the ban until it is iverturned. He has no guarantee of success, but the Supreme Court’s  flexible permission for thoie who feel aggrieved by the law to sue, offers some home to campaigners.                                                                                                                             ”The law is saving countless lives each day it stays in effect. Our fight to protect all life, no matter how small, is only just beginning,” tweeted Sen. Steve Daines, R-Mont., founder of the Senate Pro-Life Caucus.

Finally, we have hope for an end to this horrific abortion ban. The legal back-and-forth has been excruciating for our patients and gut-wrenching for our staff,” said Amy Hagstrom Miller, president and CEO of Whole Woman’s Health and Whole Woman’s Health Alliance, the lead plaintiff against the law. “We’ve had to turn hundreds of patients away since this ban took effect, and the Supreme Court’s refusal to block the law means the heartbreak doesn’t end.“

Jamila Perritt, president and CEO of Physicians for Reproductive Health, said she was “deeply disappointed” the law is still preventing women from receiving abortions in Texas.

“This situation is unconscionable and we implore the lower courts to act immediately to block this callous law,” she said. “We urgently need Congress and President [Joe] Biden to take action to protect access to abortion care.”
